15.01.2022 Dear School, Due to recent severe weather warnings, Merseylink have been discussing the best way of communicating with schools if our bus services are affected by this weather, or other unforeseen circumstances. Obviously, we would need to do this as early as possible, and this is likely to be after school hours, most likely early of a morning, or possibly after the school has closed. Merseylink believe that the most efficient way of doing this is to post on our Facebook page.... We would post and notify of any changes to normal services, as soon as we have information, meaning that affected schools would all be notified at the same time and as early as possible. For this to work, the school would need to follow Merseylink on Facebook, and have someone monitor this, during, as well as after school hours. At different times during the year, Merseylink often have important information that we need to share with the schools that we service, like the changes to ticketing and fare charging that has occurred this year. Having your school follow us on Facebook, would provide an efficient means of communicating in a direct fashion, and provide the school with a direct means of contacting us electronically if needed. We are assuming that all schools are active on Facebook, and this would be a fairly simple process for the school to initiate. If for some reason this does not work for your school, we would also be happy for you to provide an after hours contact that we could use if we need to provide important or urgent bus operation updates. The below is a link to the Merseylink website, and at the bottom of the Home Page, you can simply click the Facebook icon at the bottom of the page to be taken directly to our Facebook page. Otherwise, we would appreciate if you could provide an appropriate after hours contact via reply to this email. www.merseylink.com.au Merseylink would also like to thank you for your ongoing support of our bus network, which is an important part of getting students to school on a daily basis across the north of the state. If you have any questions, or would like further information, please contact our friendly staff on 03 6427 7626, or on email at [email protected] Kind regards, Simon Lunnon Operations Manager See more

07.01.2022 We thank everyone for their ongoing support during this challenging time. Keeping children at home, where possible, for their learning has helped to limit the spread of COVID-19, but we must now look to return students to classrooms. From Monday 25 May 2020 Kindergarten to Year 6 students will return to school-based learning Health and hygiene is still critical so we will continue to ensure extra safety measures are in place. And as always, please dont send your child to sc...hool if they are sick, or if they have a health condition and you would like to speak with your doctor first. For more information please visit our website: https://www.education.tas.gov.au//novel-coronavirus-covid/

07.01.2022 Physical Distancing in Schools During COVID-19 Public Health advice is clear it is safe for schools to be open. This is because we have a low rate of Coronavirus (COVID-19) community spread in Tasmania and there has been increased and expanded testing. To reduce the risk even further, schools have hygiene and physical distancing measures in place. While it is safe to send your child/ren to school, we still need adults to maintain a distance from other adults, whilst on sit...e. To help us with adult physical distancing, we are asking all parents/carers to: Use the Stop, Drop and Go and Collect and Go advice provided by the DoE for all drop offs and pickups. At East Devonport Primary School we have established drop off and collect Zones for parents/cares and students coming to and from school to enable physical distancing by adults. They are -: - the sealed area below the ECE Deck for all classes in the ECE area (P/1M, 2/3M, P/1C). The access gate from the CFC Carpark is not to be used. - the Blue Gate on the Thomas Street side of the Kinder Play area is the drop off and collect zone for Kinder and Prep 1 Portlock. - At the entrance next to Miss Wellings Room and the entry point to the Canteen / Under Cover Area near the GP Hall for all primary classes (5/6W, 4/5T, 5/6D, 3/4S, 2/3H). Please note that we have chosen these areas to give adequate room for parent / carers to wait whilst physically distancing. We will have extra staff on duty for the week of 25th of May to assist if necessary with taking children from the drop off point to their classrooms. If you believe that your child will need to have extra support for these changes to contact Mr. Youd, Mrs Youd or Mrs Whish-Wilson. If you need to talk to your childs teacher, please call the school office on (03) 64278932 We thank you for your support in this. We want to make school as safe as possible for everyone. Feel free to ask questions if you require any further information. These things wont be forever, but we all have a shared responsibility to act in a way that supports everyone being safe. More information is available on the Department of Education website: www.education.tas.gov.au See more
