21.01.2022 Harry Taylor - Congratulations on an amazing AFL career! As the Geelong Cats completed their 2020 season Harry made the hard decision to retire from the game he loves after 13 seasons and 280 games. He will be long remembered for his achievements on the field and will always be hugely respected by his teammates. Our family met Harry at our Newsagency soon after he arrived in Geelong. We soon got to know one another and it wasn’t long after Harry visited us for his first of... many Sunday night roasts. When Michelle joined Harry in Geelong she too joined us and this was to be the start of 13 wonderful years of friendship. Over time James, Isabel and Abbie were welcomed in to the Taylor family. Thank-you Harry, Michelle and family for allowing our family to experience Harry’s career with you. Not only will all the great football memories live on but also our beautiful friendship. Wherever the next chapter of your life takes you, you will always have our love and support. xx See more

20.01.2022 What an amazing morning with lots of people out walking and enjoying the sunshine. My day has just been made so much more special when 2 beautiful children came in to see me and gave me these pretty pink flowers. The daffodils were from another special customer too. What may seem like a small gesture has given me the most wonderful feeling in my heart. I love our East Geelong community.

What a moral booster for our town! Let’s get behind our team this week and have some fun!... This week we will be closed on Wednesday Oct 21st for the Geelong Cup Public Holiday. On Friday Oct 23rd (which is also a public holiday) our Newsagency and Post Office will be opened normal trading hours - Newsagency 6.30 am - 6 pm Post Office 8.30 am - 5.30 pm Coffee on Garden will be closed on both Wednesday and Friday but will be open all other days including Saturday. So let’s enjoy the week - Come in and see us with your Cats gear on and let’s hope for a magnificent Cats win against Richmond.

If your glasses are fogging up try wiping them over with liquid soap on both sides - then wipe clean with a tissue. 2. 02.01.2022 Today my beautiful Mother turned 96 years old! While we couldn’t visit her in Casterton, this morning we had a lovely conversation on the phone. This afternoon my sister could visit her for half an hour so my niece and children stood outside Mum’s window and live streamed so we got to see her as they sang Happy Birthday. How lucky are we to still have her in our lives! She has given me a fantastic outlook on life and so much love. Family are what provides her the greates...t pleasure. While we are all living in challenging times we can still find ways of connecting with our loved ones and special people in our lives. Over the past months I have observed many acts of kindness and a renewed level of caring for one another. This has reassured me that with all that is ahead of us if we continue to respect and reach out to one another it will ensure we become an even stronger community in the future.
