23.01.2022 EHGTHS - On Campus Uniform Shop will be open normal opening hours this week - Tuesday 22nd September and Thursday 24th September from 8am to 12pm and then will re open Week 1, Term 4. Please note: the On Campus Uniform shop will not be open during the September/October school holidays. Students will be required to wear their full summer uniform in Term 4. ... 22.01.2022 Year 12 Drama student Jana has been nominated for Onstage. This is a prestigious event that exhibits the performances of HSC drama students. Year 12 Drama were fortunate enough to watch Onstage on an excursion earlier in the year prior to COVID-19 and are thrilled to see their classmate with a nomination. This is an outstanding achievement and Jana is to be commended for all her hard work. ... Congratulations Jana!

21.01.2022 Year 9 Elective Dance have been learning Netherlands Dans Theatre repertoire this term as they focused on the element of time. The excerpt of choreography learned has been taken from Alexander Ekman’s Cacti. His choreography is a best known for his fast paced timing and witty humour. Students experimented with rhythm, tempo, duration, accented movements and how to create their own score using tactile movements. ... Well done students, learning this section of professional choreography was not easy and you performed it well!

19.01.2022 Year 9 Elective Dance students have been learning Netherlands Dans Theatre repertoire this term as they focused on the element of time. The excerpt of choreography learned has been taken from Alexander Ekman’s Cacti. His choreography is a best known for his fast paced timing and witty humour. Students experimented with rhythm, tempo, duration, accented movements and how to create their own score using tactile movements. ... Well done students, learning this section of professional choreography was not easy and you performed it well!



19.01.2022 Following the 10PASS coaching session, the students returned to East Hills Public School, on Tuesday 30th March, for their athletics carnival. The students did a fantastic job in correcting technique to help students perform their best, running novelty games to keep students active and engaged, encouraging students to do their best and aiding teachers. A big thank you to East Hills Public School for their collaboration!... A BIG congratulations to the PASS students on all their success!!

19.01.2022 Year 7 students wrote about their wet weather activity in Green Group. Arwa wrote, 'Today we made lavender oil! We made it using a method called distillation. First we crushed the lavender using a mortar and pestle. Then we set the distillation equipment and put the lavender mixed with water in. We then waited for the end result and eventually we made lavender scented water!' Amira wrote, ' Using a technique called distillation, Adiba and I distilled lavender and made it into... lavender water. We used a Bunsen burner to heat the lavender which was inside the round bottomed flask. The end result was that we ended up with lavender water.' The photos show Amira, and Adiba next to their distillation apparatus.

17.01.2022 Year 7 Technology students have been developing skills in the use of Textile Technologies as they have manufactured iPad covers. They are all very proud of their finished products.

17.01.2022 On Monday 29th March, 7 students from East Hills Girls Technology High School took part in the Sydney South West Football trials, playing in the Edmondson Zone team. The students all played very well on what was a warm down on the synthetic surface at Jensen Park. Edmondson Zone finished the day with 2 wins, 1 draw and 1 defeat.... Well done students!

15.01.2022 East Hills Girls Technology High School acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land on which we celebrate learning each day. Friday 13th November was a special opportunity for us to celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Histories and Cultures in our NAIDOC celebrations for 2020. Year 8 students of East Hills Girls Technology High School participated in an a whole day incursion to celebrate NAIDOC Week. ... Students engaged in a wide range of activities including a smoking ceremony, bush tucker talk, making of lemon myrtle pancakes, traditional Indigenous games and an Aboriginal art and artefacts workshop. We would like to thank Aunty Carol, Koreena Leverett and the Koomurri group for sharing their stories with us.

11.01.2022 5 HSC Dance Callback Nominations 2020 Congratulations to Cheyenne, Issabelle and Carlie for their Callback nominations in HSC Dance. Callback is a selection of outstanding performances and projects from Higher School Certificate dance students. Cheyenne and Issabelle were nominated for their Core Performance, indicating a outstanding results in their performance and interview.... Carlie has been nominated for all three components: Core Performance, Core Composition and Major Study Performance. This is a tremendous achievement! Well done to our HSC Dance students for their hard work and dedication to their Dance studies this year.

09.01.2022 On Tuesday 3rd November, Year 7 students at East Hills Girls Technology High School, engaged in a whole day incursion to Celebrate NAIDOC Week. NAIDOC WEEK Theme 2020 : "Always Was, Always Will Be", recognises that First Nations people who have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years. Students began the day with an Acknowledgement of Country and Smoking Ceremony. An Aboriginal Keynote Speaker, Shannon Foster, presented a speech with a focus on Aboriginal traditions, such as stringing, storytelling and living off Country.

09.01.2022 On Monday 29th March, the Open water polo team from East Hills Girls Technology High School, participated in the State Wide Finals, playing against Merewether, Kirrawee, Alstonville and Albury High Schools. Each team member demonstrated exceptional sportsmanship throughout the tournament. The team consisted of students from Year 7 to Year 12, with the older students providing excellent mentoring to the younger students. They not only participated in games, but volunteered fo...r table duty, learning new skills as they operated the clock and scored for other games. Thank you to the parents of all team members who travelled to Raymond Terrace to support the team.

09.01.2022 Artists of the Month - Year 8 students Yasmin, Zahraa, Shontelle, Shahad and Wanxuan. These Australiana Botanicals ceramic works were initially designed during the online learning phase this year and were brought to life back in the Visual Arts classroom. Students combined elements and textures from nature into ceramic vessels and rendered them in acrylic paint and varnish. ... Well done on your great work!

07.01.2022 Congratulations to Sophie, Year 10 student who has been selected as performer of the month. Sophie is an outgoing, enthusiastic student who has presented exceptional leadership skills. Sophie auditioned for the State Drama ensemble and was a successful applicant.... Her ability to work with her peers and add value to her class environment is to be commended.

06.01.2022 NAIDOC Week - 8th to 15th November. On Tuesday 3rd November, Year 7 students rotated through a range of activities throughout the day, including a bush tucker talk and the making of lemon myrtle pancakes with Aunty Carol to learn about native plants and their traditional use of nutrition and medicinal purposes. Students played Traditional Indigenous Games like Keentan which is similar to modern basketball and Wana which is similar to French cricket and finally, they engaged ...in a presentation by Koomurri focused on weaponry and art, with a particular focus on the boomerang. 04.01.2022 Year 10 Drama students have been working tirelessly this term to complete a whole class play production on a" Girl Who Cried Wolf". Year 10 drama performing the class play, "Girl Who Cried Wolf" by Angela Betzien. A 60 min play focusing on the elements of production. This is a haunting and darkly humorous play which examines the cult of celebrity and the machinations of the school playground hierarchy. Well done students!
