20.01.2022 Planning to burn off? Due to strong winds across the weekend it may be best to postpone any private burn offs. Our firefighters have already attended a number of escaped burns over recent days. https://www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/pla/farm-fire-safety/safeburning

20.01.2022 Don't forget: Our community BBQ is still on tomorrow from 12-3pm at 1088 East Kurrajong Rd, East Kurrajong. Come along and say hello, and join us for a sausage sandwich or two. Hope to see you there.

19.01.2022 The sausages are ready Come on down Free Community BBQ 12-3pm today

18.01.2022 The cooler weather provided a good opportunity to put the new EK7 through its paces with some drills today. And it’s always great to get the chance to do some training with our friends from Blaxland Ridge Rural Fire Brigade. Don’t forget our community BBQ on Saturday 1st Feb.

13.01.2022 A successful day for EK crews undertaking hazard reduction burns as part of the Willmott HR at East Kurrajong. A huge thanks to our good friends from Tennyson RFS Brigade for all of their help today. 2 sectors done, with another 2 still to go for this burn.

11.01.2022 Do you have a pile in the back paddock ready for lighting? You don’t need a permit from the RFS outside the fire danger season, however you still need to comply with all requirements of the open burning policy from Hawkesbury City Council. Now is the time to start preparing your property for next fire season, but don’t be the one to get an unexpected visit from us because you forgot to do the right thing. Please read all of the conditions on the council website carefully so you know what, when and how to burn. It’s easy! https://www.hawkesbury.nsw.gov.au/media/forms/open-burning

10.01.2022 We're hoping to see you today for a free BBQ and a friendly hello. Pop on down and say 'Hi' anytime between 12 and 3 today. Come and check out our new Cat 7 tanker, share some of your stories from the recent fires, talk to us about preparing your properties and reducing hazards over the winter season, and perhaps pick up a new membership application form.

03.01.2022 The Gospers Mountain fire is now contained. After lightning started the fire on October 26, it has burnt through more than 512,000 hectares across the Lithgow,... Hawkesbury, Hunter Valley, Cudgegong, Blue Mountains and Central Coast local government areas. The firefighting effort has seen a range of local, interstate, federal and international agencies involved. Containment took longer than expected due to unfavourable weather conditions, however due to our hardworking crews, we have achieved that today. It is important to remember not to be complacent as there are still a few months of the bush fire season to go with some bushland that still has not been burnt.
