24.01.2022 That is a wonderful reason for writing military history for children Allison. Congratulations on your hard work bringing their stories to life for today and the future. You are an inspiration.
22.01.2022 A lovely dedication speech to the sacrifices of your family and those from the district, and your reminder of why we continue to remember all service personnel. Thank you Allison Marlow Paterson.
22.01.2022 The passing of John Forbes is very sad news today. Our sincere condolences to Fay and his beloved family. A real gentleman and lovely bloke to all who knew him .

18.01.2022 As we prepare ourselves for lockdown, this project from the Melbourne History Workshop is a great way to not only document your own feelings/situation, but also... contribute to documenting periods of extreme social upheaval. When we went to take a look in our own archives for documents or ephemera relating to the Influenza Pandemic on 1918-19, we were shocked at how little material we had. Projects like this can help ensure future generations understand the impact of worldwide pandemics. "Join the Melbourne History Workshop in the School of Historical and Philosophical Studies, University of Melbourne in documenting these challenging times in Melbourne and around the globe. We are working with Mark Tebeau from Arizona State University and others by acting not just as historians, but as chroniclers, recorders, memoirists, as image collectors. We invite you to share your experience and impressions of how CoVid19 has affected our lives, from the mundane to the extraordinary, including the ways things haven't changed at all. Share your story in text, images, video, tweets, texts, Facebook posts, Instagram or Snapchat memes, and screenshots of the news and emails--anything that speaks to paradoxes of the moment. Imagine, as we are, what future historians might need to write about and understand this historical moment." https://covid19.omeka.net/mhw

05.01.2022 We have received several questions about the 1920 Second Peace Loan. Here is a brief extract from the book released today 'Australia's First Official Air Race - the historical story of the Aerial Derby and the Second Peace Loan' - $30.00 each plus postage - message or email [email protected]. Even though a century ago they were living a different lifestyle to us today, there were similarities: a pandemic and the government was broke, yet communities rallied together in support.
