Victorian residents require a permit to enter New South Wales. Please lead by example by doing the right thing and help to keep our communities safe and healthy.

21.01.2022 Community Update 18th September 2020 Regional Victoria has now moved to Step 3 of the Victorian Government Roadmap to Re-opening. This is exciting news for Regional Victorians and means a range of reduced restrictions. There are no longer any restrictions on leaving home. Social bubbles can be formed. School will be face-to-face in Term 4. Local businesses and organisations can start to re-open. ... To understand more about what is allowed and not allowed please visit the DHHS website at https://www.vic.gov.au/coronavirus-covid-19-reopening-roadm EWHS is processing what the lifting of restrictions means for our services and will provide more information soon. However, there are a few things that we can’t lose sight of. COVID-19 has not disappeared, and there is still a risk of getting it. It is important that we continue practising the good behaviours that have got us to this point: Wear a face covering in public Wash your hands well and regularly, or use hand sanitiser Keep 1.5 metres distance from others Stay home if you are unwell and arrange to get tested TESTING Getting tested if you have any symptoms, and then isolating until you get the results, is one of the best things you can do. The sooner we can identify any infections, trace close contacts and contain any outbreak, the better chance we have at continuing on the roadmap and keeping our communities safe. We have been advised recently that testing rates in Buloke Shire are below the expected rate of 1.5% that the Government has set. If you live in the Buloke Shire and have any symptoms, however mild, do your part for the community, call your local EWHS campus and arrange a test. >> You can be screened and tested at any EWHS site please call ahead to make an appointment << Birchip (03) 5477 7100 Charlton (03) 5477 6800 Donald (03) 5478 6200 St Arnaud (03) 5477 2100 Wycheproof (03) 5478 0700 With school holidays starting and more people moving about enjoying what our area has to offer, it has never been more important for us to continue to follow health advice. We don’t want to undo all our hard work. Let’s continue to support one another as we all navigate towards our new normal.

Respect is... is the theme of Respect Victoria’s 2020 campaign. ... Over the next 16 days, we will share more images like this to encourage you all to think and talk about what respect means to you, what it looks like and how we can build respectful and safe communities.

15.01.2022 Press Release | 17 July 2020 From the CEO RE: Coronavirus COVID-19 Precautionary Lockdown at East Wimmera Health Service sites... As the COVID-19 coronavirus situation evolves once again, we want to reassure you that we are taking all possible measures to prevent the spread of the virus into all of our hospital and residential Aged Care facilities to protect our patients, residents, staff and the wider community. We recently strengthened visiting rules and infection control practices but in light of increasing case numbers outside the Melbourne and Mitchell Shire lockdown areas we have decided to once again initiate a precautionary lockdown of all of our hospitals and residential aged care facilities to ensure the safety of every person. This means that there is no visiting from Sunday evening July 19 onwards We will keep reviewing this decision in order to re-open as soon as it is safe. This is not a decision we have taken lightly, but we believe it is in the best interest of all patients and residents. Compassionate circumstances will be considered on a case-by-case basis. People wishing to visit should contact us in advance to discuss arrangements in those circumstances. Limited Community Health activity will continue for the time being so if you are booked for an appointment, please expect it to proceed unless we contact you directly. Our staff are aware of the difficulties this decision will create and will assist with phone or video based communications. We will contact our regular visitors to make sure your needs are met. We thank you for your cooperation and support of our arrangements to protect our patients, residents and staff in light of the current health emergency. Together, we can help keep the people we love and care for, healthy and well. If you have questions or concerns in relation to these temporary measures, please contact the campus manager at the facility you are interested in discussing. 14.01.2022 Covid-19 testing is being encouraged for anyone with any symptoms, no matter how mild. Please avoid others and get tested at one of our sites if you have any symptoms and don’t come to work if this is the case. Please encourage anyone with symptoms to get tested and isolate until results are known. Please encourage anyone demonstrating symptoms to be tested and to stay home even if they think it might be an allergy or hay fever. Please encourage people who have been tested t...o stay home until results are known. Contact Tracing Something to consider is to maintain a diary of your movements over the preceding two weeks. In the unfortunate event that you are identified as a contact, you will be able to easily answer any questions about where you’ve been and who you’ve seen over the last fortnight. This would greatly assist the response. Another initiative is the COVID-19 tracking app: COVID-19 Tracking app The COVID-19 tracking app, known as COVIDSAFE, is an important component of maintaining the low rate of infections in Australia. The app allows rapid and accurate contact tracing for people who have a risk of transmission from someone who tested positive. I encourage you all to download it from your relevant app store. Please note: Once downloaded, the app must be activated in order for it to work

13.01.2022 What a year it has been so far! COVID-19 has changed so much in our daily lives, with all of these changes impacting on our health and well-being in one way or another. The EWHS Health Promotion team are interested to find out what these changes have been and the impact it has had on people’s health and well-being. To do this, we have created a short survey. The survey is open to all ages and community members and participation is anonymous. ... The survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete and will close on Monday 7th September 2020. Survey Link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/6RLHF8L We would love to hear from as many of you as possible, so please share this with your family, friends and networks. 12.01.2022 - Hand Hygiene Washing hands with soap is the most effective way to practice good hand hygiene during the COVID-19 pandemic, but also recognises that hand sanitisers (which contain at least 60 percent alcohol) can play an important role in keeping hands as free from harmful microorganisms as possible. - Self-Care In the current environment where the risk of outbreaks will remain for some time, there is often an ongoing background of uncertainty that can test our resilience. I...f you are experiencing feelings of stress or anxiety, then please contact East Wimmera Health Service for assistance in the first instance. - Cybersecurity Scams and phishing emails continue to remain very common so please concentrate when opening email or responding to texts. We are seeing increased traffic so please remain vigilant. Emails pretending to be from government agencies or about COVID-19 are particularly common right now. We have recently seen evidence of people being called at home and asked for credit card details in relation to testing so please be aware. - Family Violence The circumstances we are experiencing that include job losses, income reductions and more time spent confined at home are all risk factors for family violence. Experts in the sector are expecting to see a 100% increase in cases of family violence. Please practice kindness and tolerance in your own environment. If you require assistance please contact East Wimmera Health Service for assistance in the first instance.
