NAIDOC is celebrated not only in Indigenous communities, but by Australians from all walks of life. In 2020, NAIDOC Week celebrations moved to November 8 to 15, due to COVID-19.... NAIDOC 2020 invites all Australians to embrace the true history of this country a history which dates back thousands of generations. The week is a great opportunity to participate in a range of activities and to support your local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community. 08.01.2022 Vaccination Rollout Begins The EWHS COVID-19 Vaccination rollout started on Tuesday 23rd March 2021! After completing extensive training in preparation for the rollout, EWHS's team of specialist Nurse Immunisers started by vaccinating residents in our aged care facilities. ... Along with residents, EWHS staff members are also part of Phase 1A and 1B of the vaccine rollout and will begin to receive their vaccines over the coming weeks. 05.01.2022 Vaccination program rolls out today at EWHS! East Wimmera Health Service (EWHS) is excited to announce that its COVID-19 vaccination program will commence on Tuesday, March 23rd. EWHS specialist trained Nurse Immunisers will commence by vaccinating residents in EWHS residential aged care facilities.... Nurse immunisers from EWHS have undertaken extensive training in preparation for the roll-out of the vaccine. EWHS chief executive Trevor Adem said that Tuesday will be an exciting day for the health service. Our residents are part of Phase 1A of the vaccination program, where the most vulnerable members of our community receive the vaccine first, Mr. Adem said. Our front line healthcare workers are also part of Phase 1A and will soon commence receiving their vaccinations, followed by the remainder of our health care staff as part of Phase 1B. Local Medical Clinics will start receiving their allocation of vaccine next month at which time other community members from phase 1B and 2A will be able to start accessing vaccines in limited numbers. More information on when and how to access the vaccine will continue to be released as information becomes available.
