17.01.2022 BFNL Update Hello everyone, We hope you are all staying safe, well & warm.... Following is an update from BFNL Manager Shane Anwyl on the state of Netball & Football for our league. We will provide further updates as they are available. Good morning, I’ve been lucky over the recent weeks to promote the Ballarat FNL through TV and radio, with newspaper as well and the constant message that I get back to me is the amazing support clubs have been providing to their members and players. There has been a terrific amount of content through social media from clubs, everything from sponsor plugs, to activities and challenges and general wellbeing advice. This has given a real sense of family amongst clubs and the league and one that has been noticed in the wider community. So on behalf of the league I want to say well done and that, despite the interruptions and uncertainty we currently have, there is a definite pride in the league which you (as member clubs) should all take credit in. This email is more to touch base on a couple of items, despite there being no news to share at this time. There has been a lot of media and commentary around the AFL looking to restart and how that will look. May 11th has become an important date for so many people to hopefully have an understanding of what the future may look like. As the league has promoted from the beginning, we will always await the advice of AFL, AFL Victoria and the medical experts as to what our future holds in the short term. Our position is still uncertain at this stage and will await (like everyone) advice that comes from the next review and as soon as details are provided from AFL Victoria, they will be passed on. The board is currently working through some options on how the season may look under different scenarios. Some have been provided through media, the ideal situation for senior football and netball will be an 11 round season that allows all clubs to play once, with a finals series yet to be decided. As I’ve mentioned, there are a number of scenarios, but more work is still required and where possible, we will certainly look to gain feedback and thoughts from clubs. Junior football and netball, along with female/junior football is being reviewed at the same time, with further conversations to happen around these competitions in coming weeks. In the short term, we will continue to promote the league and clubs at every opportunity we have and encourage all to keep up the great work being done at this time. As always, if there are any questions, please let me know. I am only to happy to arrange a catch up with some of your club representatives if you like that may provide some clarity around individual circumstances at your club. We would do this through Zoom (which I have become quite adept at using). The league continues to be open for business through this period, and I am only too happy to catch up as needed. Shane Anwyl

On behalf of our full Club Committee, a massive thank you to all our Club Members, Officials, Players, Volunteers, Family members and Sponsors for your hard work and diligence in coming to grips with this most unusual year. Whilst having spoken of the word UNKNOWN during the last nine months, this has been the most challenging of years for our Committee, Coaches and all Support Volunteers. Thanks for your hard work, flexibility, resilience and unwavering commitment. We are proud of our club’s commitment to try and ensure that our netballers and footballers had an opportunity to hit the Courts and fields but higher forces stopped us all in our tracks. 14.01.2022 Season 2020 Good evening all, The new restrictions announced by the State Government has put a finite end to our season. Even through the season was called off 5 weeks ago, our Netballers entered 6 teams into the Wendouree Netball Association Competition enabling them to get two games in before being cancelled. ... Whilst we could not get our football teams on the park, we did learn a lot about our community. We learnt that local sport is more than just a game on a Sunday. We have all missed our mates, our team mates, the social interaction and competition. Thank you to the CHFNL Clubs who enabled many of our footballers to also get a couple of games in over the last couple of weeks. I am sure that the desire for Season 2021 is forefront in all of our minds and we now have an opportunity to plan and commit to what will be a great season. I am proud of the way the club has handled this season. Our Committee has worked tirelessly, our Coordinators and Coaches committed, our players resilient, our parents and entire EPJFNC Community totally supportive. We have a number of netballers and footballers who would have spent their final year representing our great club. We will honour these players and families over the coming weeks. A huge thank you to everyone involved so far. Stay safe over the next 6 weeks, look after your families and do the right thing. Glenn McKenzie Junior Coordinator

11.01.2022 Hello to all EPJFNC members and members of our extended community, we hope you are all safe and well. Ordinarily today we would all be at the City Oval enjoying a perfect day for Netball & Football taking on Redan in round 7 of the scheduled season. Instead we find ourselves in the predicament of not having been able to hit the Netball Courts and Footy ovals to enjoy our teammates company and the touch of a netball or footy under game conditions.... As a club, we have been very supportive of each other and we have received fantastic feedback on how our netballers and footballers having been filling in their time keeping their skills and fitness in check for if and when we get the green light for season 2020. Leanne Willems has done a fantastic job of gathering photos and putting them together into a montage as a record of our off-field activities in recent times. A big thank you to everyone who has contributed. So sit back and enjoy a few minutes of our future stars hamming it up for the camera. We hope to see you all soon. 10.01.2022 East Point Junior Football Netball Club Season 2021 Update & Vacant Club Positions Welcome to all EPJFNC member, Parents and supporters to season 2021. This season brings some renewed excitement and anticipation as we look to getting our netballers and footballers back into action on game days. As a junior Football Netball club first and foremost we are a family club! A club that is committed to team development, personal and team excellence, social justice, and the developme...nt of young people of character and integrity in a fun and safe environment. We focus on the development of our players from their foundation years with strong Auskick and Net, Set, Go programs. The club’s longevity, success, reputation and positive culture didn’t magically happen. It’s because of the hard work of many loyal & dedicated parent volunteers over time. The combined effort of many parents helps create the enjoyable experience that our kids have at the club. The nature of a junior club is that players and families move on, which means that we always need new parents to take on roles and make a contribution to the continued success of the club. This forced turnover also brings positives; new opinions, ideas and ways of doing things which makes our club better. This season is no different with a number of key roles within the club becoming vacant. It takes around 60 people in Committee and Official roles to run the club each season. This involvement takes time and effort, that’s a reality. It’s why there are many roles; to spread the load and make it manageable. Some roles can be shared, so you may be able to take something on with a friend. We can also manage roles to suit the time you have to contribute. A big part of running the club is done behind the scenes. Key dates for season 2021 (16 Rounds excluding Under 9 competition): Sunday 25th April (Anzac Day) First game Sunday 12th September Grand Final Coaching positions are being finalised and we will update everyone when this is done and also provide a copy of the season fixture when released by the BFNL. Pre-season training commencement dates will be advised ASAP also. Vacant committee positions and official roles for 2021 are shown in the Org Chart at the following link: https://eastballaratjfnc.teamapp.com//30/documents/885647 Expressions of interest can be made via email to [email protected] or contact Glenn McKenzie on 0408 524 994. The smile on your child’s face when they play in their first win; the smile when they tell you about the goal they scored. Having fun with their friends, learning teamwork, developing skills, building confidence and resilience. Creating enjoyable and memorable experiences. That’s what our club provides and we as parents maintain that environment. Behind the smiles is the club, behind the club is the parents!

09.01.2022 With the recent announcement from AFL Victoria and Netball Victoria advising that steps are underway for a return to training the committee will meet this week to review the processes that will be involved. This is great news, as a club we will continue to approach this in a cautious manner. The wellbeing of our East Point members and community being our greatest focus at present we will provide further updates as our best way forward is determined. Woof doggies

09.01.2022 JUNIOR SEASON ANNOUNCEMENT. The McDonalds BFNL is disappointed to announce that given the changing situation in the state of Victoria regarding COVID 19, the j...unior football and netball seasons will not proceed in 2020. There was initially a strong desire from clubs to commit to providing participation for juniors this year with plans being formulated for a junior premiership season. A number of clubs have since indicated they do not wish to proceed. Recent announcements from health experts has also cast concerns on the ability of clubs and the league to ensure a safe environment for players, parents and supporters. The health and well being of everyone involved has always been at the forefront of considerations which the league now believe do not favour pressing forward this year. We are disappointed to make this announcement but trust there will be understanding as to why this has been made. The BFNL must thank the junior coordinators who have contributed so many hours to the discussions held. The opportunity now presents itself for the league and all clubs to work towards a strong 2021 season. Thank you to all supporters of the Ballarat FNL during these trying times.

07.01.2022 Today the BFNL have announced that the 2020 Junior Season will proceed on what will likely be a 9 week All clubs are required to respond to the league indicating if they will or will not participate in season 2020 and, if so, what teams are likely to fielded based on club feedback so a fixture can be determined. Your club committee is currently reviewing the protocols we will need to follow together with the required resourcing and volunteer assistance to determine our pos...ition in response the leagues request. As always the well being of our club community is our greatest consideration. Stay tuned for further updates as to our participation.
