25.01.2022 Queensland is currently experiencing extreme heat waves. Here are a few tips to keep your pet cool. *Make sure they always have access to clean water. *Add some ice to their water bowl. *Provide more then 1 water bowl (incase their bowl gets tipped over). ... *Ensure they have access to shade and shelter. *Provide a paddle pool. *Place a wet towel on the ground for your cat or dog to lay on during the day. *Freeze larger ice cubes (ice cream containers) for your dog to lick. *NEVER leave your pet in a hot car. *Don't take your dog for a walk on hot cement or bitumen. If it is too hot for you to walk on barefoot or touch, then it is too hot for your dog's paws. Either walk them first thing in the morning or in the evening when the ground has cooled down. See more

19.01.2022 Is it time to Spring clean your pet's bedding and toys? Your pet would have spent a lot of time snuggled in their warm beds over winter. This makes the start of spring the perfect time to clean their bedding. Here are some simple steps to cleaning bedding, clothes and toys. For your bedding, put on a rubber glove, dampen it with water, and run your hand over the sheet or blanket. The hair will cling to the glove, and you can more easily gather it and throw it away.... When you've removed as much hair as possible, follow these steps: 1. Before washing, run clothes or bedding through a 10-minute no-heat dryer cycle. This loosens the pet hair, which winds up in the lint trap. Throw in a dryer sheet, because any static buildup can keep hair bonded to fabric. Take the items out of the dryer, give them a good shake to remove any remaining pet hair, then toss them in the washer. (Clean the lint filter after every load, and the dryer duct annually, or more often if you notice your dryer is taking longer. That might happen if you regularly put your dog's bed in the dryer). 2. Add a half-cup of white vinegar to the machine’s rinse cycle. Vinegar is a natural fabric softener that helps relax fabrics and loosen the pet hair. 3. Clean your washer by running a wash cycle without laundry. After the cycle ends, wipe down your washer tub with a wet cloth. Do you have any great pet cleaning tips?

15.01.2022 Over the summer months, the warmer weather often means more social gatherings. The barbeques get fired up, and as a result, more titbits and food scraps are on offer to our pets. Although many animals can handle these extra treats, just as many dogs (and sometimes cats) can become very sick from eating these fattier foods and can develop a condition called pancreatitis.... Keep an eye on what you or your guests are feeding your pet.
15.01.2022 From our family to yours, have a Happy Easter and safe travels.

13.01.2022 Happy Good Friday. As we enter the Easter long weekend we wanted to remind you to keep your chocolate out of reach from your fur babies. Chocolate is toxic to dogs and can be fatal from eating the smallest piece. Also remind your children to never share their chocolate treats with their best doggie mate. We wish you all a safe and relaxing break.
