22.01.2022 CONDOLENCES BUTLER AND NANKERVIS FAMILIES Greetings all Players, Members and Supporters at EBCC. Hope you are all keeping safe and healthy in these trying times. Cricket season will be upon us in no time, even though it looks like it will be somewhat of a delayed start.... We just wanted to update everyone about some sad news to a couple of our long term supporters and past players. Colin Colby Butler in the months of April and June lost both his parents over these past few months. Never easy to lose a parent and to have both parents pass in such as short time frame we hope they are both together watching over your families. Colby, Kerry and your families from everyone at EBCC our thoughts and virtual hugs are with you. Hoping during the season we can all get together to celebrate you Mum and Dads lives Colby. Another of our past players and supporters Big Russ Nankervis last week suddenly lost his beautiful daughter Charlie. To Russell, Sharon, Brooke and Cooper words cannot describe how we all feel at EBCC with your sudden loss of such a beautiful young person and accept our condolences at Charlies passing. Again, all of your friends at EBCC are giving you virtual hugs and hope the terrific memories of Charlies life will help get you through these terrible time. To both the Butler and Nankervis families from all your friends at EBCC we are thinking of you in this time of your lives.

17.01.2022 With the decision to cancel the RMS Grand Final, we have brought forward the club clean up to this Saturday morning from 10am. The committee would appreciate any help from the playing group. Later that morning, we will be selling remaining food at cost price to members to clear stock. Please come down to finish the season.

16.01.2022 COACHING ANNOUNCEMENT When I started writing this it was on the expectation that we were going to get back to normal sooner rather than later. Then the announcement of Saturday afternoon came that we were turning back on the easing of restrictions. Certainly does not help us plan for the coming season with any great certainty. 14.01.2022 East Burwood Cricket Club are pleased to announce Peter Verechia (pictured with Director of Cricket Simon Pickburn) as coach for the 2019/20 season. Pete was recently inducted as a life member of the East Burwood Cricket Club at the 2018/19 Presentation Night and has a rich history associated with the club. Pete played 220 Senior Club games and was a 1st XI Premiership player in 1987/88. Pete has had 2 previous stints as captain-coach in 1989/90 and 2003/04-2004/05 and we are thrilled to welcome him back as coach again!

13.01.2022 Hi all, As you can probably imagine, both Junior and Senior presentation nights have been cancelled. Presentation night will be subsequently held in conjunction with our season launch hopefully in August or September when the Coronavirus crisis is over. 12.01.2022 There will be a training session for both seniors and juniors at 9am Saturday morning, with sessions also on Tuesday and Thursday next week starting at 6pm sharp so please arrive 5 or 10 minutes earlier to be ready to start at 6. First game is Friday the 13th for juniors and Saturday the 14th for seniors.

05.01.2022 LEGENDS CLUB LUNCHEON 2019 Greetings all, I am pleased to announce this years lunch, I am putting up the house full sign, its basically a sell-out. We may have some spots open up now it is getting to the important time of payment. ... On the flyer it shows the account details to deposit the funds to. As a Member of the Legends Club the cost is $200. Payment to be made no later than April 30. Please place your own name as the reference and text, phone or email [email protected] once you have sent payment. Now what we will be doing is having a small get together later in the year at a venue to be announced for pizzas and a few drinks as part of being a Legends Club member. Each member will be put into a draw and the winner will have next years membership paid for. Also, if you have advised myself of any guests please ensure that their payment of $150 is also deposited into the account by 30th April. Again, make sure their name is listed as the reference. NO PAYMENTS ON THE DAY. As each year, all funds go towards any specific requirement for the club. For anyone that wants to attend and has not advised myself, we do have a waiting list so we can place anyone on the waiting list and should payment not be made by 30 April spots will open up. If anyone has advised me of attending and now cannot, please let me know urgently so we can offer the spot to others. We have 80 for the function in which 25 of yourselves as Members. 04.01.2022 East Burwood Cricket Club are thrilled to announce the signing of Chamindu Mathra (pictured with Director of Cricket Simon Pickburn) for the 2019/20 season. Chamindu has spent his last 4 years at Blackburn South where he has made 1460 runs @ 37.44 with a high score of 203* and taken 58 wickets @ 23.07 with best figures of 6/56. We look forward to seeing Chamindu pile on the runs and take bags of wickets in the not too distant future.
