25.01.2022 U12/1 - EAGLES TANGLE WITH TIGERS FOR THE WIN Final score: EAST CAMPBELLTOWN 16 - 10 IRSL TIGERS U12/1s came up against a much improved IRSL today. ... The boys went into half time with a 16-10 lead. Unfortunately, the game had to be abandoned during the 3rd quarter due to a scary injury to one of the IRSL boys. I am happy to be able to say that Ive checked in with IRSL and he has been given the all clear! Both teams were happy to pose for a photo together at the end of the game, a great show of sportsmanship shown by both teams today. Final score remained 16-10 to the Mighty Eagles keeping the boys undefeated this season. Manager Ali

24.01.2022 U7/2 - EAGLES AND SAINTS TEAR IT UP A beautiful early morning game with our 7/2 Eagles Vs All Saints as the main attraction. We had an awesome game today against a team with some size on them, some quick steps and good defence.... Our team were solid in their defence, holding up some sets and backing up our team mates. We had an awesome team effort in holding the ball up in goal and chasing down what would be tries. Equally so our attack was on point with some awesome tries, quick feet, picking up loose balls and some spectacular offloads which led to tries. Super proud of our teams efforts today and for their great sportsmanship on the field and working as a team. Player of the Match: Lucas Maiuu Outstanding Effort: Logan Charlton Outstanding Attitude: Bryce Alberts Maccas Awards: Ephraim Sauvao & Walter Puckeridge-Ramsay Manager Chanelle

22.01.2022 U18S OFF TO THE BIG DANCE Massive congratulations to the 18s with a convincing 60-0 win over Moorebank Rams! Really appreciate the effort by Moorebank and resilience in an injury depleted side and wish them all the best for next year. ... The win seals the 18s Grandfinal Spot and the Minor Premiership for 2020! This year has been a really challenging season due to all the stop and starting from the COVID-19 restrictions, its a massive credit to the team for all their hard work and commitment! Out of this team we have 4 on age players turning 18 and the rest are a year younger so a massive achievement in a very strong 18s competition!

20.01.2022 Please Share: We would like to inform all supporters that there will be zero tolerance of any anti social behaviour, abuse or violence on and off the field. It was great to see such an awesome competition between both teams but even better to see the sportsmanship between both teams and the parents. They even sung the club victory song together. Well done to both teams, coaching staff and Parents A ...very proud President Daniel Draper

20.01.2022 U10/1 - TOP OF THE TABLE CLASH Final score: EAST CAMPBELLTOWN 50 - 0 COLLIES Our Eagles had been looking forward to this top of the table clash for quite some time.. a battle between the top two, both undefeated, both eager for a Grand Final spot!... We opened our account early with a barnstorming run from Urijah after a great forwards set put us in great position, Jesse converted. In our next possession our teamwork and execution of a set play resulted in some expert steering from playmaker Jesse who popped a great ball to Jyai who hit a hole and crossed over for four of his own. We closed the first quarter 10 - 0. The second quarter saw our brick wall defence shut down every attacking opportunity Collies tried to muster, Urijah went in again to notch another try and Spencer slotted the extras. In another attacking set that was executed to perfection, Jyai was able to gather a pin point accurate crossfield kick from captain Jesse and pick up a second try himself. After a changeover on halfway and some huge metres from Loutazz, our backline effected a double block that saw Elijah bag a try and Loutazz convert to close out the first half 26 - 0. After a few solid defensive sets, our Eagles took advantage of a Collies mistake and again Jesse set our backline for another instrumental play that got cut short of a try, however, great vision from our hooker Spencer saw a 3 on 1 shortside to add Rocky to the tryscorers list for the day. Siupeli notched four points against his name after some brute strength was displayed up the middle, VJ booted the extras to take us to 36-0 at the three quarter mark. Lincoln took the first run of the final quarter and as he had done all game, struck fear in the defence as he ran near half the field untouched to post four points for our Eagles, Alilia converted. Our Superman Damarion flew over in the corner after a great draw and pass that was only made possible after a great decision from Spencer to go shortside. First run off our attacking set saw Siupeli charge up the middle leaving bodies in his wake as he closed the account for the day, his try pushing us to 50 points. Final sore: 50 - 0 A huge effort in defence was the key to the teams success today and a phenomenal team effort! Tries: Jyai Milford (2), Siupeli Akauola (2), Urijah Brown (2), Lincoln Lamese, Rocky Latu, Damarion Fotualii and Elijah Muipu. Conversions: Jesse Ropata, Spencer Sorensen, Loutazz Leuka, VJ Aione and Alilia Sauvao Huge shoutout to the Coaching Staff who have been instrumental in these kids success and development! Thanks Filipo, Sio, Ross and Jen! Thank you Terry and Greg and both the U10s for the guard! Coach MILF

14.01.2022 U13/1 - BATTLE OF THE EAGLES, EASTS VICTORIOUS Final score: EAST CAMPBELLTOWN 38 - 8 ST JOHNS EAGLES Our boys went out on a mission to defend their line and complete their sets. We started strong with a great kick-off return up the middle resulting in a four-pointer from Seti after a 40m charging run that left St Johns bodies laying in his wake. He converted his own try for the extra two. A couple of sets in and we found ourselves defending our line and a lapse in focus... saw us let them in. Our kick off bounced in our favour and with Caleb hungry for the ball he regathered, side stepped a couple of defenders and posted an extra four to our tally. First quarter, Easts 10 - 4 St Johns. A few dropped balls and some silly mistakes entered our game early in the second quarter, however, we learned quick found the tryline again through Tia, Riley kicked the conversion. Once our defence improved we began to complete our sets and after some neat and tidy hands out the back, Paul raced away to add another four to the team tally, the extras kicked by Seti. Half-time, Easts 22 - 4 St Johns Our defence for most of the game was quite impressive with our middle forwards annihilating anything that dare take a run up the middle. Deacon ran a tackling class laying shoulders into everything, Brooklyn was the annoying little brother you cant get rid of, hunting the action all over the park. Brody, Seti and Glassie were super impressive with their bonecrunching 1 on 1 efforts! Brody proving that each week his confidence grows and hes getting more and more involved resulting in another try for the season. Shortly after, we were back up in their face, hunting round for more points and we found them through big Seti while Conah kicked us the extras. Third quarter, Easts 32 - 4 St Johns. Deprived of the ball, coupled with handling errors throughout the match, St Johns had to resort to stripping the ball 1 on 1 and on a couple of occasions it worked in their favour, one strip at our line saw them stroll in for their second try of the game. Our boys took this to heart and defended like mad to get the ball back, in the next attacking set some quick hands out the back saw our right edge stroll over through Tyson after the ultimate display of mateship through Glassie who couldve quite easily scored but tipped it on for his mate! Tries: Seti Puaavase (2), Paul Johnson (2), Brody Taateo, Tia Ropeti and Tyson Reid. Conversions: Seti Puaavase 3/4, Riley 1/2 and Conah 1/1. Trainer MILF Thanks to Kev McGuiness and the U14/1s for the guard! #brothersinarms #footyison #EastCampbelltownEagles

14.01.2022 U11/2 - EAGLES HALTED BY HORNETS Final score: EAST CAMPBELLTOWN 6 - 38 HINCHINBROOK What a tough game today for our 11-2s eagles. They played hard and defended like mighty troopers making some amazing tackles. It just wasnt there day today though and Hinchinbrook took the win... Easts 6 - Hinchinbrook 38. These kids should be commended on there team work and sportsmanship. They always encourage each other and support each other on and off the field. So proud of you our little eagles keep your heads high you are all simply amazing Manager Nicole (No photo)

12.01.2022 U10/2S EAGLES PUT ON A SHOW Today the under 102s played the red eagles and what a cracker of a game it was. Both teams attack and defence was amazing to watch today well done to Gregs boys and girl on a awesome game of rugby league! 11.01.2022 2016 Sydney Shield Premiers This team will go down as the greatest Premiership victory of any team in the Macarthur Region. Playing Mounties which was a team that was on a 21 game winning streak, and let’s not forget to mention the Fijian Flyer Maika Sevo that year scored a record 42 Tries in between the RMC and Sydney Shield Competition. ... The Eagles paying $8.50 on sports Tab was written off from the start. But the gutsy Eagles wouldn’t lay down going into the half time break 12-6 up. Second half seen the game in the balance for the full 40 minutes and with the scores 24-22 with a minute remaining, the Eagles crossed through Captain John Da Silva to create an historic victory 32-24

04.01.2022 On Sunday Shannon Gallant will lace his boots for the final time. Shannon has been a great club man for the Eagles and we have been fortunate to have Shannon finish his career at our club. Ive known Shannon for many years and seen him grow as a player and person through the Junior Rep Squads as he made his way to play NRL for the Wests Tigers. Known as the Mighty Mouse, Shannon first put on the East Campbelltown Eagles Jersey back in 2008 for our Jim Beam Cup Team. I got t...he privilege to Coach Shannon that weekend as our team played the Western Reds in Perth where Shannon put on one of his amazing performances. I can still see Western Reds were about to score a certain try when Shannon come out of nowhere, stole the ball and ran 80 meters downfield which changed the game. Shannon had a blinder and led our guys to victory that night. It was great to win the game but it was better to get to know the larger then life personality Shannon is. Still to this day its one of the best footy trip weekends Ive had. All the players and Coaching Staff that made that trip would agree Shannon made that weekend. Some 10 years later and after a bad knee injury, I had a talk to Shannon about playing Sydney Shield and help out mentoring our players. He was worried his body wouldnt hold up. But to Shannons form he wanted to win a Premiership before he retired. He had some close calls at the Magpies but that was his goal. Shannon got that Premiership in 2018 when our Sydney Shield defeated Guildford. Shannon will be a huge part of our club in the future as his passion for player development is a priority to him. I would like to Thank Shannon for his service as a player and Congratulate him for an amazing career And finally well done to Shannons family Brook, Preston and Harper. A very close family that has supported his career all the way, watched every game, felt every hit, enjoyed every try. You guys have supported him through the highs and lows Its been a absolute pleasure to have you all at our club. Daniel Draper President ECERLFC
