Red No...se Day is 29 June 2018 and it needs the support of not only one small community but the support of a city, a state, a nation and beyond. Before SIDS touched me personally by watching a beautiful families lives changed forever I had spent time being trained in safe sleeping and what SUDI/SIDS is by the Lady Cilento Childrens Hospital. To be a cuddle carer at the hospital we had to know about how to leave a baby sleep in their cot do you know? The numbers they showed us about the deaths in Queensland alone was staggering, the cases of ones that may have been prevented was horrific. Knowledge is the key, in cases that cant be explained research is the key. Funds are needed, awareness is needed share this post so it reaches far and wide so that you can help to prevent this happening. Educate yourself especially if you have little ones. 03.01.2022 We understand completely the scare most businesses are going through with the effect the coronavirus is having on businesses. We know firsthand what is like to deal with the loss of your business, especially in a year when you are flying and life is great, then due to a natural disaster out of your control it comes to a crashing end. Three years this month we have been confined to a restricted zone to ensure white spot virus was not spread to any other area out of the conta...inment zone. The government had no problem imposing this band, enforcing with the threat of fines to ensure that the virus is not spread, it did not matter that we lost our main source of income, income that we needed to pay mortgages, to live, to eat, the greater concern was stopping the virus. No compensation was ever offered to help us survive, we had to go and look at other ways to struggle on for three years. The government was RIGHT though, it did contain the virus, it did not spread and with a bit of luck this year there will be no sign of it left in the environment. Whitepsot virus was never going to harm a human life, but they took immediate measures to contain it at the cost of several small businesses, they knew this containment would be for a two year period possibly longer, which it has turned out to be. But now a virus is out that has harmed and killed humans, and has spread quickly through countries. No containment has really been put into place, it is spreading, I am sure most of us can name a person that we know in our workplaces who have a cold but continue to come in, maybe its just a normal cold, maybe its not. 14 days, if asked to self isolate or shut your business if you have been exposed, or potentially exposed to stop it spreading then do so. If it saves one life is it worth it? If it is your family Im sure you would say yes, this may never effect you or your family, you may just get a cold, but what if it does take someone you love, you will be the first asking why no one listened. People expressed their concern when we struggled through what containment meant for our business, but they still had theirs so it didnt really matter to them. No one cares until it happens to them. We know how much this will hurt businesses if bans are put in place, but we also know it is possible to continue on without handouts or compensation, its in every person to pick up, fight back and continue on, money can come and go but human life cant. So lets be realistic there is already a million diseases in the world that people are fighting to survive lets stop the spread of this virus if we can and not end up like the crisis that is happening in other parts of the world. Dont go out if sick, stay home, if asked to self isolate please do, consider others. Employers send employees home if necessary, shut your doors if your business has been exposed. Wash your hands!!
