21.01.2022 {PEOPLE OF PLAYGROUP} . . MEET ZOE | Uni student in Primary Teaching and also our Tuesday playgroup coordinator. Zoe is newly married and is extremely passionate about child development for all ages of children! .... . SHARE | SENSORY PLAY | It has been found through multiple research studies that sensory play supports language development, helps create fine and gross motor skills, builds problem solving skills and social interactions as well as enhances the development of memory in the brain! These activities are great for children from ages 0-5 and best of all, there are so many sensory experiences that you can complete within your home for little to no cost at all! Examples include coloured rice and spaghetti play, orbies, flour and water play and shaving cream fun! . . I love sensory play as these experiences spark wonder and curiosity in children’s minds about the world around them. The experiences allow children to learn about new textures, colours and through it, they are able to showcase their creativity and develop risk taking skills. Best of all, they are often so happy and entertained for hours by these experiences. . . See in the second picture the coloured rice Zoe has made up for some little hands to play with!! See more

20.01.2022 {BRINGING PLAYGROUP TO YOU} Who loved Zoe's rice sensory play idea last week? Here is another one. All you need is shaving cream!! If you want to colour it use a little food colouring and glitter for some extra fun. Little ones simply use their hands, drive some hot wheel cars through it or stomp some dinosaurs. It is a lot of fun!

19.01.2022 Happy Monday Everyone! Click on the link below to sing and dance along with Linda dancing to one of your playgroup favourites...Baby Shark!

15.01.2022 {BRINGING PLAYGROUP TO YOU} CRAFT | The Very Hungry Caterpillar | All you need is string/twine, penne pasta, green food colouring, paper or cardboard. Put pasta in a zip lock bag or a lunchbox container with a few drops of food colouring and shake it up until the pasta is completely coloured. Add in extra food colouring until the desired colour is reached! Lay it out on a drying rack or on paper towel until completely dry. Cut out the little bits of paper for the head and body (pictured) and put it all together. Super Easy! #eastcoastplaygroup #crafttime #theveryhungrycaterpillar

14.01.2022 This message is to notify you of the immediate changes to Eastcoast Playgroup for Term 3. As you may be aware, our local Sutherland Shire community, along with other areas in NSW have been sadly affected by COVID-19 at an increasing rate in this past week and therefore it is the decision of Eastcoast Church to forgo playgroup in Term 3. As an organisation we feel we need to be part of the solution and ensure the safety and wellbeing of everyone in our playgroup community wh...ich is why we feel it is the best to not have playgroup gatherings for term 3. This will be re-assessed along with Government guidelines in the coming months. If you have registered for any Eastcoast Playgroup event for the current term, you may receive a cancellation email. Watch this space for updates! We are really looking forward to gathering again when it is safe to do so. In the meantime stay safe and if you are in any need of anything please reach out to myself at [email protected] Linda Hamilton
