25.01.2022 Webasto-Hollandia 700 series fully built in style with one touch electric operation.

23.01.2022 VW TIGUAN fitted with Webasto 300 Comfort.

22.01.2022 Well everyone the the end of an era of the last 40 years has come to an end , I sold the last sunroof Friday that we had in stock . No more topslider sunroofs for utes etc no more built in style sunroofs either . The only sunroofs we can now fit are manual pop up models that we can source from an American Company , what you MUST keep in mind is pop up sunroofs can only be fitted to older style cars as we can't remove any of the safety braces that newer cars have in them , eve...n some of the older ones will be in the no fit list due to other reasons . Lots of cars have front interior roof consoles and the distance between that and the cross roof brace will stop us fitting into those as well as it would probably require removing the brace which we wont do . We are actively looking overseas to see if there are any other options but it seems that the aftermarket sunroof industry is almost extinct . We are now focussing on repairs so we are able to fix most factory sunroofs and others . See more

21.01.2022 Webasto Hollandia 300 MR series electric sunroof with full one touch operation and auto close with engine turn off .This model is mainly for VE VF Commodore and Ford AU to FG utes .

20.01.2022 Ok to save me explaining to customers why aftermarket sunroof production has stopped this photo will give you an indication of what we were up against . The factories are now fitting sunroofs while cars are being assembled across the world , the average time to fit one on the assembly line is around 70 seconds production cost of the roof itself is probably only a few hundred dollars . So all those factory sunroofs have forced our suppliers to give away what to them is an unpr...ofitable part of their business . The major aftermarket sunroofs manufacturers are also guilty as several of them including our Webasto brand ones also make those factory ones so they have helped destroy their own products to us . I have estimated around 30 to 40 million sunroofs are fitted around the world at the factory level every year , compared to at best around half a million aftermarket ones its not hard to see why they have stopped production . I get lots of calls and enquiries asking where else they can get one from , if I knew where then I would have them myself wouldn,t I ??? See more

19.01.2022 Nice install of the Webasto Hollandia 700 into a 2016 AUDI S3 Hatchback .

19.01.2022 UPDATE time we have extinguished our allocation of all the built in factory style 700 sunroofs , so all we have left now is a handful of the external spoiler style sunroofs the Webasto MR and as far as I know some of the 300 Comfort models may be available as well . Please remember the spoiler style sunroofs are mainly for utes and some sedans but limited to certain model sedan cars only .We can still get supplies of manual pop up sunroofs as we can get them from an Americ...an manufacturer who distributes them in Australia , but again I must emphasize they can only be fitted to certain cars due to structural considerations . What I can suggest for some of the older cars is for customers to get in touch with me with model details and then we can direct them to buy a second hand one from Ebay or Wreckers . BUT do not just rush out and buy one without asking FIRST , we have done a few second hand reinstalls lately and we recondition them thoroughly before refitting into another car . BUT please call to ensure you are sourcing the correct model for your car . 0414 312624 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday See more

18.01.2022 A big thank you for the get well wishes, all good now just need to rest up for the next ten days. I would like to thank one of my customers whose sunroof I got closed in an emergency recently, he was a local and gave us a Christmas hamper as a thanks. So everyone have a great Christmas and New Years. I'll be back on deck from 4th January.

18.01.2022 A very nice install of our Webasto MR 300 electric sunroof into a Holden Thunder ute , nice color combo with the black roof .

16.01.2022 Well they don,t get much bigger than this beast . Latest model Dodge Ram 2500 dual cab ute . Fitted with Webasto Hollandia 700 fully built in style sunroof .

14.01.2022 Ok time to reiterate our situation , we are no longer able to fit anymore built in or top sliders sunroofs as Webasto have ceased production . We still have some manual pop up sunroofs but remember please these cannot be fitted to many cars due to safety reasons and also restricted space inside . To save any confusion please RING 0414312624 as it will save an enormous amount of time trying to explain details via text or messenger .

13.01.2022 Hi all well its Christmas once again , we will be closed until after the 2nd January . I will monitor the phone and messages but general work will only commence after the 2nd . Please send any inquires but expect late replies . Have a Merry Christmas and thank you for your support this year .

11.01.2022 More repairs today with a Nissan Dualis with multi panel sunshades in need of recovering, like the BMW last week a complete strip out of lining/ airbags and then the shade frame. That orange colored stuff is the decaying foam which leads to the linings coming off and the fabric is left rolled up in the rear.

11.01.2022 Hi all long time since I last updated things, ok as most have read I had surgery back in February and 7 weeks later managed to trip over while going back to the hospital for last check-up . This resulted in tearing all the ligaments off my shoulder meaning I was unable at first to do much work at all , after seeing two orthopedic surgeons the end result was I am not going ahead with complete shoulder replacement as they recommended due to major issues with work and outdoor ac...tivities. Ok so now after lots of physiotherapy and exercise on my shoulder I now have reasonable motion with the shoulder, and over the last few weeks I have started to do full installations again on a restrictive basis. What that means is I have to take my time with the fully built-in model the Webasto 700 series meaning I need two days to do a 700 series into vehicles. The other model roofs the 100 and the 300 models and repairs are still half or full-day jobs as I cannot risk doing more damage to my shoulder. I would like thank those who have been holding out for an install but it was out of my ability to try any before now. Lastly, I am almost exclusively working from home now so onsite installs are definitely off the table , the original surgery has caused some ongoing fatigue problems so I cant work for a full day like I used to . 11.01.2022 We're still busy even without installations these days, we have transitioned to repairs now as there are around 35 million sunroofs fitted annually around the world by all car makers and there are lots of issues we are dealing with. Today's big job was a BMW X5 SUV with broken parts and the sliding shades needed to be recovered. We are asked sometimes why these jobs are expensive so in these photos you will get an understanding of what's required to carry out the job. Roof trim has to be removed curtain airbags and wiring etc just to get the housing out. Once dismantled the shades need to be washed with thinners to remove the old glue, then dried and then sanded to ensure good adhesion with new fabric. You can see the black muck which we have to deal with so it's time consuming operation.

10.01.2022 Well it,s been a long time since our page was updated , with Christmas well behind us and the new year starting with world wide pandemic you would think things could not get any worse read on . Our parent company Webasto have announced that they will no longer be in the aftermarket sunroof business , what does that mean ? well Webasto is a HUGE worldwide manufacturer of sunroofs both aftermarket ie The Webasto_Hollandia models and various other aftermarket sunroofs . They man...ufacture millions of sunroofs every year for the OE market which is where they manufacture sunroofs for car makers to fit to new cars on the assembly line . Over the last 25 years we saw lots of innovations being shown but mainly in the top of range models only , sunroofs are now more commonly seen on most lesser models . Look at the ads on TV and in most cases they show a sunroof either a standard style or full glass panoramic sunroof model . While this is not something installers like to hear after being involved in fitting for over 40 plus years ourselves it was a trend we saw coming , sales have dropped gradually from 6 or more installations a week in the early 2000,s to now only one or two a month . So what does this mean to the consumer ? well for the next year or so we will still be fitting as Australia has an allocation to cover the next 12 months or more . Webasto are working with each outlet to allocate numbers for each centre based on historic sales , so it will mean availability for the next year or more . On the upside parts WILL be still available for the next ten years plus as its a consumer law . We will certainly be supporting the sunroof industry with a focus on repairs into the future , with all those millions of OE roofs being made repairs will certainly keep us going . See more

09.01.2022 Found this article the other day , the writer deemed himself to be an " expert "so I let him have it with both barrels . Read the story first then my reply ..https://www.facebook.com/howard.thr/posts/1712397242155414

08.01.2022 To my valued customers from today if you try and contact me via phone with a blocked/private number it will just give a message advising of the fact that due to an annoying amount of marketing /scam callers we will not answer . As a genuine customer you can leave a message and then leave a listed return number for me to call back on .

07.01.2022 We are transitioning to our new way of operating in spite of our loss of sunroofs that we used to install, repairs are becoming a big part of what we do these days . Many cars with factory sunroofs do have problems and we can fix a large number of them. This was a Factory sunroof installed into a Ford F 150, the roof had broken mechanisms which we replaced with new parts and got the roof working nicely. The crazy part was it broke two years ago in the vent position and this is what we had to deal with when we saw the car last week. I spent hours cleaning off the tape as it had etched into the paint and seal. Top tip if your going to tape up the roof change the tape every few weeks or it will be a costly repair.

07.01.2022 A BMW sunroof we repaired recently lack of lubrication by dealers caused the roof to jam forcing the sunroof drive cables to be forced out of the housing, after removal we effected some modifications and returned the roof to normal operation.

05.01.2022 Webasto Hollandia 700 fully built in style fitted to Jeep Compass.

04.01.2022 Well good news to all those who have been waiting for the arrival of the MR 300 Sunroof , our pallet has arrived so if those who have been waiting would like to proceed with a fitting please leave a message .

04.01.2022 Just a quick message to those who visit our page on Facebook and our website , if you have a problem with your cars sunroof feel free to phone me FIRST before you either go off half cocked and make it worse or get the wrong information from other ëxperts driving their keyboards . A customer last week pulled his sunroof apart the WRONG way and is now faced with a huge repair bill , sunroofs are fairly precisely made components and it only takes a little bit of forcing to bre...ak something that will cost a lot of money to rectify . Secondly I have an aversion to texting , call me old school but I stop and wonder why a person will send dozens of questions in a text messages. What you have in your hand is a telephone and I can answer a dozen text questions in a single phone call . Time is important and concentration is critical to working with repairs and installations , so please I am happier to talk than to spend ages typing on a phone keypad . Thank you for your understanding .PS my work hours are from 8am onwards ringing me at 6.55am will not get you an answer , you will only make a grumpy old man worse !! See more

03.01.2022 Ok I have some more news on the Webasto shutdown of sunroof production , seems we were not given the whole story when it was announced on the 8th of April . It now transpires that Webasto in Sydney have for the last few years only been ordering enough sunroofs to keep in stock for what's known as the just in time system . Thats where manufacture keeps just enough parts etc for an assembly line to keep operating smoothly , if there is a hold up in the supply everything gets he...ld up . So what does that mean for us the network of installers around Australia ? well as it stands we cannot order any more sunroofs at this time as they don,t have any in Sydney . There is container arriving sometime in the next week or so by what we have been told we will only get an allocation spread across the 3 sunroof models in the 700 built in range , that will be a total of 5 roofs over the 3 sizes Currently we have 2 roofs in stock one to suit most popular sedans ie Commodores Falcons , the other one suits dual cabs and 4 wds but it is already sold . Once these and our allocation ones are sold there will be no more , all we can do is wait and see if any more turn up around the world but its a slim chance . We have very limited stock of the MR 300 electric spoiler roof we use for the ute market and when they are gone that's it as well no more . There is one other 300 Model known as the 300 Comfort but it can only be used in certain cars due to its flat shape and again once its gone then there are no more . We are devastated by this sudden announcement and are not exactly impressed by the way Webasto have handled this event . See more

03.01.2022 I will be off the air for the next few days leading upto Christmas as I, m having surgery for a problem ankle issue. Then from Christmas to 4th January just a rest period. Please hold off unless it's urgent with questions. Thank you for your support this year it certainly has been crap, everyone have a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year.

02.01.2022 Hi to all, even with the Corona virus we are still busy. Not so much with installations as we only have 4 more of our allocation left to fit but repair work is rising all the time. Let's face it with Webasto alone making over 12 million roofs for car makers each year it stands to reason there will be lots of problems with those roofs in time. Now I would like to have a small gripe at this time, it relates to messaging and ...especially text messages, most people these days own a mobile telephone you know that handy little gadget we all have in our pocket or hand. The one thing that is sure to get me hostile are those messages I seem to get on a regular basis asking innumerable questions, as I am working most days on customers cars I just don, t understand why I should have to answer dozens of questions on a single subject when the culprits could just use that phone to TALK to me directly. I can answer dozens of questions with just one phone call and by using the speaker function I can keep working and talking. Anytime someone asks multiple questions I lose my concentration and have to keep picking up the phone and text the answer. It's simple use your voices and learn to talk to people once again, it's become a dying custom these days and I hate it!! Sorry for the rant but it's a pet hate of mine, so use that phone and you will get a better response and keep me happy as well. Regards Howard ( sometimes grumpy old man ha ha) 8am to 5pm please .
