22.01.2022 Today in the kitchen garden we made Seasonal Savoury Muffins which will be available from the School Canteen for $1 each this week! We also made Rhubarb and Apple Fruit Leather.

21.01.2022 This week 3/4 are making Cauliflower and Potato Soup, Pizza of the Imagination and Banana Bread. We also tried homemade Apple and Rhubarb fruit Leather.

21.01.2022 In Prep we have been thinking about what makes a good reader and how can we show that we are all great readers. Also a BIG congratulations to Albert, who today received his a gold Mathletics Certificate. Well done Albert

18.01.2022 THURSDAY 3 DECEMBER 2020: Kinder to Grade 2 Athletics Carnival. Carnival to be held between 11.45am-1.00pm. Please enter the school at the gates from the car park in between the Kinder and the main building and exit via the gates that lead onto Albion Rd. Please stay in the designated spectator area and maintain social distancing. Remember to fill out BOTH SIDES of the Coronavirus form on the day and bring it with you (do not fill it out any earlier than the day of the carnival). See below for the timetable on the day. :)

14.01.2022 Numeracy scavenger hunt time for 1/2 Garlick and 1/2 Neighbour. We are loving finding fun and engaging ways to consolidate our learning

06.01.2022 As this year is coming to an end, we wanted to celebrate our success with families. We are very excited to share that in 2020 our Kindergarten students are above the state average by 4% on the Kindergarten Development Check (KDC)- this is the first time this has happened in 10 years! Our results also show that 80% of our grade 6 students are at standard or above in reading! Our teachers and students have worked incredibly hard to achieve this result and we would like to share how proud we are at East Derwent Primary!

06.01.2022 Here’s some of our pre-kinders feeling confident in their new environment ready for next year! You too can give your child the chance to see what Kinder is all about and help build this confidence Tomorrow is our first solo pre-kinder session (parents are invited to have tea and coffee in the LiL room with younger siblings and Ms Jos ) 1pm in the Kinder building, please bring a water bottle, piece of fruit and hat!

03.01.2022 Today we had a practice of a 50m run in preparation for our ECE athletics carnival, all the students did very well and the races should be very competitive! Mr Newell

02.01.2022 TWINKLE TWINKLE LITTLE STAR The children sing songs and rhymes each day when they come to LiL. This helps them feel connected to others and confident learners at school. Singing rhyming songs is a great way for young children to develop their early literacy and oral language.
