20.01.2022 This message has always been my approach to a HEALTHY way of Life. It sums up how powerful movement and exercise can be for a treatment strategy for not only many forms of chronic conditions and illnesses but even more broadly on QUALITY OF LIFE When movement and exercise is tailored specifically to suit improving an individuals quality of life and feelings of one person both physically and mentally...this is powerful ... This week is designed to create more consciousness in moving that little bit more, moving the ways that make you feel good and maybe even trying something new If this week feels like it’s your time to kick off something new but your unsure of where to start...give us a message and we will help you #move forward the best way that suits YOU #exercisephysiology #start #exerciseright #movementismedicine #essa #health

05.01.2022 Meet Peter Peter served with Defence for 30 years He developed a condition known as Cerebellar Ataxia (affects his gait, movement, and coordination patterns)... Pete at age 65 explains his biggest issue he faces in his quality of life now is the fear of falling over and hurting himself. Pete has fallen to the ground 6 times in the last 12 months this has led to a quite significant sedentary lifestyle. In the past following many specialists and surgeon appointments Peter has begun to develop quite the list of medications all which have their own side effects affecting his mood, sleep, energy and general quality of life as well. His very passionate carer of supports introduced him to Exercise Physiology Pete and I started working together 5 weeks ago and had a good chat and nutted out a plan of attack that is specific to his goals of improving his balance, reducing his risk of falling over and and all round developing confidence in his own body again. Our 3 Key Fundamentals we have been focusing on are: Simplicity Specificity Consistency It took Peter around 1 week of education and practical application to understand WHY we were doing (as it hasn’t work for him in the past) what we were doing. Pete has also had some epic feedback from other health professionals he continues to see for his regular check ups (see photo 4). Video 1: Session 2 Video 2: Session 6 (noticeable difference in his gait) Video 3: Obstacle Course Pete conquers daily now Thanks for trusting in us Peter and looking forward to many more progressions and improvements to you and your families quality of life #exercisephysiology #specificity #goals #ataxia #movementismedicine
