Many of you would be aware of the great support the Icebergs provides for various charities within our broader community. The Club currently and in recent times has assisted the RUOK Foundation, Rainbow Club , Cathy Freeman Foundation & the Nelune Foundation. As well as a host of other worthy causes. On Sunday September 22nd ( Coinciding with our Ice Cube Club Championships) the club will be holding a Swim for Cancer event, of which the Cubes will be joining in. This event is to raise money for the St Vincents Exercise Trial for Cancer Patients. Below you can find more details of the event. In general there is a variety of ways you can support. Firstly swimmers can set up a support page , similar to the one below. We are very conscious that many of the children, through their schools or other affiliations are already involved in great causes. If you prefer, you may wish to support the Cube page set up, which is championed by Ice cube, Ollie Moclair. There is a link below to Ollies page , which is a subject close to his families heart. Finally, on the day , all Ice cubes will participate in the swim for Cancer , which at the completion of their age championship race, will simply be a registered lap of the small pool . Over the next few weeks, Donna Moclair & Siobhan OToole will be around the pool deck to provide all of us a brief on the event and the specifics of what the money is being raised for.
