22.01.2022 Attention! All Little League Minor A, Minor B, and Majors have been canceled tonight due to the substantial rain today and more forecast for tonight.

22.01.2022 This is why we were so keen to put this Senior League coaching team together. Here is a note that Head Coach Andy Tierney sent to the players and families today. Hi All, I just wanted to take this opportunity with the news from BV today to reach out to you as parents, players and coaching staff. ... Over recent weeks we have built a really solid rapport with the players in the squad and also with the guys that missed out. My philosophy from day 1 was to work with what the kids could give me, rather than what god gave them, so in my program you wont see stop watches or radar guns. You will see instruction, laughter, care, fun and comradery. With such a small moment in their lives to coach them - the philosophy from Myself, Dave, Troy and Donny is to prepare the kids for what lies ahead in their baseball journey, rather than for one tournament. Most of the kids in the squad have the ability to play baseball in the College system or even professionally and I have been all the richer for working with them so far. What ever happens next, good or bad, I wanted you all to know that we as coaches will be prepared to get the group ready to play. Wherever, whenever. Beyond that I will always consider myself a coach to this group, my door will always be open, my phone always on. Take care and be safe through this time and I hope we can see you all on the diamond again in the near future. This team is exciting, I cant wait to watch them do their thing. Cheers Andy

22.01.2022 Good luck to all teams who play their final regular season games this weekend before finals begin. Tonight is a gala night at Malvern Braves Baseball Club for our Minors. The canteen will be open with plenty of dinner options. Enjoy!

21.01.2022 Another message from our Senior League Coach, Andy Tierney. Hey Guys Just checking in, hoping that everyone is remaining safe and well during this time of transition from life as we knew it, to life of isolation. ... Its easy to be frustrated and angry especially with kids who are used to being active every night of the week with baseball. Remind the kids that we have only missed out on one single weekend of baseball, the winters wouldn't have started yet, so while they are missing being around the boys (arent we all) their development wont have been affected. Truth be told, the break will be doing them the world of good. It is however important that they continue to throw and keep their bodies in good shape when and if possible, even if that means mum and dad need to dust the old glove off! Most kids will have academy info they can follow however please dont hesitate to get in touch if you need some direction. John Hussey has just posted a fantastic arm maintenance video for his pitchers in Brno which i will forward to you. Keeping the legs strong and loose is also very important so that when we are allowed to play again there are no bottom half injuries. Stretching, walking around the block and most importantly sprints at the park or up the driveway will hold them in good stead. Lately I have found myself being super grateful for the community in which we find ourselves. I have been in contact with the coaches most days and we are all feeling a litttle bit flat, but, we all have each other to lean on. I want this team to be a real lightning rod for the parents and players, even if we never get on the park we want the kids to remember this team, that we are/were the Athletics of 2020, we can be the best team they have been part of without picking up a baseball. Please be safe, please stay sane! I'm here if you need me. Andy

09.01.2022 We’re looking forward to State Champs! Here are the venues for this years championships. Best of luck to all our teams.

07.01.2022 With most clubs starting up training this week we have a few keys things to announce for the upcoming season. 1 - Little League Minor A/B - Friday nights. The 6/7 per side games that we introduced last year will run again this season. This was an overwhelming success and we expect more excitement (and Home Runs) this year. We have made some very minor adjustments from what we learnt last year.... 2 - Little League Major - Move to Friday nights In an exciting development LL Major will move to Friday night. This will keep all players from aged 7-12 on Friday through their Little League journey with the hope to grow entry into our sport over the new few years. It will bolster our Intermediate division with players able to play both divisions. We have already had a upsurge in interest from most clubs. 3 - Intermediate and Junior League - Sunday Morning Our older age groups will continue on Sunday morning with strong representation from all clubs. 4 - Charter baseball will look different this year. We will keep you posted as we find out more information from Baseball Victoria. Remember to be COVID safe as we enter into a great summer of baseball. Have fun back in training and we look forward to games starting soon.

07.01.2022 It is with a heavy heart that I have to report that tragedy has struck within the Athletics Family. Blackburn players Aaron Wawra and Ayden Johnston were involved in a car accident over the weekend. Ayden is currently in a coma, and although the family is very concerned they are cautiously optimistic. Tragically Aaron’s injuries were too severe and he passed away at the scene.... Aaron was much loved and respected in the baseball community by coaches, team mates and opponents alike, he always had a smile on his face and played the game with skill, dare and joy. The Wawra family are and have been fixtures in baseball forever, we are devastated for them and offer our support and love. The world and the baseball family are worse off for not having Aaron in them. Ayden's little brother Ethan is a current All Star and his dad "Junior" has been coaching through the season and the CPDP. We pray that Ayden is returned to them and full health quickly. These are good baseball people desperately hurting right now, in whatever way you think is appropriate please find a way to send them love, strength and support.

06.01.2022 I stress this is very early days and there is a long haul ahead but but the A's are stoked to be able to report that Ayden Johnston is awake, very groggy but awake. Everyone please keep those positive vibes coming.

02.01.2022 Week two of our CPDP line drive championship. The winners are: Zak Stafilis (LL) and Kody Taylor (JL)! #checkoutthebling
