24.01.2022 ...Rev. Dr Theresa Yu Lau’s chapter on discipleship, which has to be one of the most exquisite things on discipleship I’ve ever read. says Jill Firth in her interview with Eternity News. 'Dean of Faculty and Development at Melbourne School of Theology Chinese Department, Lau titles her chapter ‘Grounded in His Lordship: Mary, Martha and Me’. She kind of works with being a Malaysian woman, and then she works with the Bible and then she bangs it together and comes up with s...omething just superb, enthuses Firth. 14.01.2022 How often have you heard in recent days that we are living in unusual times, even unprecedented times? And so often, people express the desire to return to normal life. For most of us, virtual church is far less satisfying than meeting personally. But what are we learning about church during this COVID era? And how will those lessons and discoveries shape us in the future? Can we just return to life as we once knew it? Or should we reconsider what it means to be the church in this time of history? Dr Thomas Kimber will be exploring these and other questions in his webinar (Re)Imagining Church in a COVID Era and Beyond.

10.01.2022 Tonight’s MST & Eastern Open Week Webinar will delve into the often taboo subject in church of ‘Mental Health for Christians’. Christians have traditionally vie...wed psychiatry and psychiatrists with suspicion. At times the mentally ill have been labelled as being demon possessed or perhaps spiritually weak. Today there is still a lot of ignorance, wrong theology and stigma when it comes to mental health. What are some of the reasons that many suffer with mental health issues? How can we change some of the negative views about mental health and those who struggle with it? We hope that this webinar will be an opportunity to discuss some of these issues further. Join Prof Kuruvilla George, a Christian psychiatrist and coordinator of the Christian Mental Health Fellowship, as he explores the field of mental health and illness with an integrative understanding that brings medical science and Christianity together. This webinar is brought to you by MST & Eastern’s Centre for Theology and Psychology. Find out more about Open Week here: https://bit.ly/mst-open-week

09.01.2022 Leading in Complexity and Diversity Come and join in a live and interactive conversation with Tim Meyers, Jude Long, and Kirk Franklin, as they discuss, and reflect on the opportunities and challenges, of leading in complexity and diversity. We will explore how issues such as our own culture and background, organisational values, context, personality, gender, and Christian experience have such an impact on how we lead, and our capacity to lead effectively. We will reflect on how it feels as leaders when things aren’t going so well, or when circumstances beyond our control make leadership even more challenging. And we’ll talk about ways of creating an empowering, positive and God-honouring culture, even amid complexity and change, to bring out the very best in others!
