11.01.2022 Dry Needling is a technique which is used to treat muscular pain. It is a safe and widely accepted treatment which involves inserting acupuncture needles into areas of muscular tension . If you are experiencing muscle spasm, tightness, pain and tenderness it may be the result of having a trigger point within the muscle. A trigger point is a focussed area of muscular tightness and tenderness which can be assessed and identified by Dr Ryan Turner . The needles are very thin... and may not be felt by the patient or may induce a twitch response which stimulates a healing response in the tissue and reduces tension and pain within the muscle . Dry needling is covered within an Osteopathic consultation and used in addition to other techniques to improve your health . Book in today to see why this treatment modality is very sought after and shown to have great results! See more

06.01.2022 Suffer from neck pain? . Here are 2 basic stretches which can help decrease muscular tightness and increase range of motion within our neck . Upper trap stretch seated, either grab the chair you are sitting on or place your hand behind your back. The aim is to depress the shoulder. Then go to smell your opposite armpit and assist with your other hand. You should feel a nice stretch along the side and back of the neck and is a common muscle which is tight and can b...e the cause neck pain or headaches . Pec stretch standing in lunge position with closest leg to the wall placed in front, place arm at 90 degrees on the wall, lean forward and turn the upper body away from the wall. Taking deep breaths, you should feel this stretch across the front of your chest. This is a common muscle which when tight results in rounding of the shoulders and upper back which indirectly pulls our neck forward and causes tightness and pain within our neck. You can get treatment over and over to the neck but if we do not achieve range of motion in this area and maintain good posture with our shoulders and upper back, our neck pain may continue to persist . Try these now!!!! See more

01.01.2022 Neck pain is common and can be the result of day to day discomfort and the cause of some headaches . Poor posture and stress are key reasons which can reault neck tightness and stiffness and predispose injury and headaches . Ensuring we are working with an ergonomically correct posture, regular breaks if at a desk to break the pattern of stiffness and rigidity, regular stretching or strength exercises are some ways we can decrease the risk of neck pain day to day ... . Manual therapy can also assist with releasing trigger points, correcting posture, mobilising and manipulating stiff joints to decrease neck pain and decrease the frequency and severity of headaches See more
