We are now able to share the following updates: METRO MELBOURNE Stage 4 restrictions have been extended to 28 September 2020. Tennis activity is not permitted during this time. 18.01.2022 CYNTHIA MCKENZIE RECOGNISED FOR CONTRIBUTION TO TENNIS 16 March 2021 | Tennis Victoria 0 33 When thinking of Junior Tennis in the Eastern Region, it’s hard not to think of Cynthia McKenzie.... On Saturday 13 March at her home club Heathmont Tennis Club, Cynthia was recognised for her exemplary service to tennis with a Highly Commended Service Award. Cynthia joined the Eastern Region Tennis (ERT) Committee in 2002/2003 and became the Junior Record Secretary just 12 months later, a role in which she has excelled for 17 years. Without Cynthia, the ERT Junior and Senior competitions could not have been run as successfully as they were. Cynthia is a fantastic ambassador for tennis in general. She is passionate, understanding and nothing is ever too much trouble. She is described by her fellow volunteers as an absolute pleasure to work with. After being presented with the award by Tennis Victoria Club Development Office Danielle Cornwall, Cynthia said ‘I want to thank Tennis Victoria for this award. It was such a surprise and an honour and it has pride of place in my home’. Thank you, Cynthia, for your contribution to tennis in Victoria, and congratulations, you’re a very deserving recipient of this award. We love recognising our Volunteers and Club Members who contribute significant service to Tennis through our Tennis Service Awards! To nominate a worthy Tennis Service Award recipient in your community visit here. This Honour was well deserved

18.01.2022 TENNIS VICTORIA UPDATE 8 JULY 2020 8 July 2020 | Tennis Victoria 0 171 Last updated 8 July at 9:40am... To the Tennis Victoria Community; our Members, Clubs, Volunteers, Associations, Coaches and Venue Operators, Recommendations from Tennis Victoria regarding COVID-19 Restrictions for Metropolitan Melbourne and the Mitchell Shire The Victorian Premier has announced new restrictions and a Stay at Home Directive for 6 weeks for Metropolitan Melbourne from 11.59pm 8 July. During this time, tennis has been identified as an activity which can continue, with restrictions. Our recommendations below are based on the available DHHS guidance. We expect Sport and Recreation Victoria (SRV) to publish further detail later today and we will update our recommendations as required once we have this additional information. We will also contact tennis clubs and coaches affected directly later today following any further updates from SRV. 1. Metro Melbourne plus Mitchell Shire lockdown areas (full list below) The guidance states: Outdoor sport facilities will be closed, except for facilities where people can exercise with no more than one other person or members of your household while maintaining 1.5 metres distance. Equipment should not be shared, and communal facilities cannot open. Community sport training and competition cannot occur within the Melbourne metropolitan area or the Shire of Mitchell. If you live in this area you cannot participate in community sport elsewhere. Therefore, All indoor facilities must close this includes all indoor courts, club houses/rooms Cafes in club houses can serve take away and home delivery only Community competition must be cancelled until further notice Outdoor courts may remain open for the following: o Casual play (public court hire or club members) for members of the same household or for 2 people from different households. o Coaching for members of the same household or one to one coaching All other programmes and activity must cease until further notice Tennis equipment must not be shared No one from outside a lockdown area may play at a facility within the lockdown area and vice versa The ‘Hot Zone’ areas identified 1 July can now revert to the above guidance. Strict adherence to physical distancing and hygiene protocols is essential. In Metropolitan Melbourne, anyone playing tennis must Get In. Play. Get Out. We also recommend that everyone entering a facility is registered for tracking purposes. We have provided a QR Code resource for this purpose. We are currently updating the information and resources on our website and will make this available as soon as possible. 2. Regional Victoria Tennis activity, including community competition, may continue under the direction of Tennis Victoria’s Return to Tennis Guidelines and Return to Community Tennis Competition Guidelines. However, residents of Victoria may not play tennis in New South Wales and vice versa. This means some Associations/Clubs may need to cancel community competition this will need to be an individual assessment based on where your players reside. In border areas, tennis coaches may apply for a permit to work across the border. Since reopening the courts we have seen significant demand, especially for casual court hire. We understand that it is disappointing to have further restrictions placed upon us, but we must, of course, respect the public health directives and do our bit to help manage the COVID-19 pandemic. As a physical distancing sport, tennis is in a strong position to continue to provide exercise opportunities to assist the community to stay physically and mentally well during this challenging time. Tennis Victoria staff are working remotely to limit contact but are all still available to provide support: Information and resources to support coaches will be sent to all Tennis Australia Coach Members individually and our Coaching Leaders are available when required. Your Tennis Victoria representative is available for volunteers and venue operators. We will remain in contact as we work our way through this together. We hugely grateful for the strong leadership provided by our volunteers and coaches please don’t hesitate to contact us if we can be of help. 12.01.2022 Tennis Victoria's updated Community guidelines for continued play Dear Affiliates, Following the Federal and Victorian Government announcements on Monday 23 March, Tennis Victoria has updated the below guidelines for continued play. We strongly recommend that Clubs, Centres, Coaches and Associations follow the guidelines if continuing to play.... Tennis Victoria's Community Guidelines for Continued Play There are still ways that we can play tennis with some important restrictions to ensure we are operating in a way that adheres to the expert health advice. Important updates in the new guidelines include: No indoor tennis or indoor tennis coaching is permitted Court hire, individual or small group coaching can continue (max. 4 people) Any gyms or sit down cafeterias associated with any tennis venue must now close Coach operated venues are being asked to consider changes in their day-to-day operations The immediate future of our sport is in our own hands, and we all have a part to play. Failure to comply with Government guidelines in regards to social gatherings and social distancing will result in even more stringent regulations, which could potentially lead to a full lockdown of our sport. Let's work together to demonstrate a level of social responsibility, so we can keep tennis open and provide an appropriate outlet for the people in our communities. We recognise this can be a confusing time for everyone. Please remember that if at any time you have any questions about COVID-19 in regards to tennis, please contact your relevant Tennis Victoria representative. Kind regards Tennis Victoria

08.01.2022 Update from Tennis Victoria 20/10/2020

07.01.2022 Eastern Region Tennis Inc. ABN 95 114 479 484 A0031930C http://www.ertinc.org.au Making Tennis Fun 9th July 2020 ... An update below on the ERT 2020 Winter season. Dear valued Tennis Clubs, We hope you are all still well and are all keeping safe and healthy and maintaining Social distancing. Further to our recent virtual ERT Convenors meeting, which proved a very successful evening, ERT has continued a regular dialogue with Tennis Victoria officials to facilitate a return to Competition Tennis which was always the aim for our ERT Winter Competition to resume on the weekend commencing 18th July 2020, albeit a shortened season. Unfortunately with the latest Victorian Government and DHHS regulations, confirming Stage 3 Covid 19 restrictions are to be re-introduced at midnight 8th July 2020 for the next 6 weeks under these regulations, which we all must comply with, ERT has no choice but to cancel the ERT 2020 Winter Season. We respect the health and safety of all the Community as a priority, and we can all now look forward to the ERT Summer 2020/21 season, which is probably going to be commencing in early October 2020. More details later as to the timing of these details which we assume will be advised to Clubs in September 2020. We would just like to confirm we appreciate the support/time/patience/understanding from all ERT Clubs, under these unprecedented times with Covid 19 and appreciate/understand the difficulties we now all collectively face again with no Community Competition Sport being allowed. Under the latest restrictions this includes the terrible ramifications, especially the financial position which we now all have to deal with, yet again. Once we know some more information on Covid 19 from Tennis Victoria and/or the Gov’t/DHHS including our ERT 2020/21 Summer Competition we will be in contact by email and/or through the ERT website. Thanking you all for your understanding under these difficult circumstances, which we all hope we never experience again. We all hope that everyone keeps safe and healthy and continues to maintain social distancing. Kind Regards Robert Jackson President Eastern Region Tennis Inc.

The very nature of our game ensures there is a vital role our sport can continue to play for the benefit of the community as we endure the COVID-19 pandemic.... The COVID-19 Community Tennis Guidelines for Continued Play is an attempt to provide advice for all involved at the community level on the safest way to continue playing. As long as we all abide by strict health and hygiene guidelines coaches, volunteers, administrators, associations and tennis centres can continue to provide an outlet for physical and mental health through the sport of tennis. Additional measures will be required but there is still plenty of opportunity for tennis to be played as long as hygiene guidelines are followed to help support the community’s ability to stem the spread of COVID-19, whilst helping the health and wellbeing of many of us. Due to the fast evolving nature of this pandemic, conditions beyond our sport and in this environment can change and we will continue to keep everyone updated. These guidelines provide support for everyone involved at the grassroots level on the safest way to continue playing. THIS THE LATEST FROM TENNIS VICTORIA
