07.01.2022 Two of our members Jeremy and Deni travelled to Boonah yesterday with ATVs in tow to assist in a missing person search. They were joined by other members from across Brisbane Unit and Scenic Rim Unit to assist QPS. It was day two of the search with many members continuing to search on foot. Within a few hours of commencing their search by ATV, Deni and her offsider from Scenic Rim, Robyn, came across the missing person and returned her to the search HQ with support from Jeremy in the second ATV. Well done team. It was a fantastic combined effort and you did us proud. More details in the attached post from Scenic Rim SES.

05.01.2022 Eastern Group will be part of a very large Brisbane City SES Unit contingent at this years ANZAC Day Dawn Service and Parade in the CBD. We will be assisting Queensland Police Service, Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) as well as St John Ambulance Australia. This event is an important one on our calendar and our members look forward to assisting wherever possible on this day of respect.
05.01.2022 It is with much sadness that we say farewell to one of the longest serving members of the Queensland SES. Mark joined the SES in 1975, and came to the Brisbane Unit in 1979, where he was our Group Leader for a number of years. Mark is transferring to the State Emergency Service - Far Northern Region, where we trust his years of experience and knowledge will be greatly accepted. Thank you for all you have done for us Mark, and all the best!

04.01.2022 LIGHTS! SIRENS! ACTION! FOR PUBLIC EMERGENCY EXPO A helicopter rescue, a kitchen fire, rescue dogs, the emergency response to a dangerous storm and a close look at the latest emergency vehicles and equipment are among the exciting highlights of Brisbanes inaugural Emergency Services Expo. The Expo will feature displays and demonstrations from a range of emergency services including Police, Fire, Ambulance, SES, Red Cross and RSPCA. The free event will run from 9AM to 2PM on ...1 May 2016 at Teralba Park, Everton Park. Expo coordinator and SES volunteer Michelle Delebet said that the Expo is also a chance for everyone to understand how they can get ready for any emergency, like severe weather or fire. Many of us might not meet these service people until we need them; so the Expo is a great chance to learn from their experience in a fun and family-friendly environment, Michelle said. There are many things that families and communities can do to get ready for any emergency such as understanding the hazards you face, preparing a plan and a kit, preparing your home and tuning in to warnings. Fire, Police and Ambulance will have their latest vehicles on display. The kids zone will have emergency related activities and a scavenger hunt. SES volunteers will be demonstrating chainsaw operations, putting a tarp on a roof and other storm damage repairs. Im really looking forward to the winch rescue demonstration by a QGAir helicopter. The Brisbane Expo is modelled on the very successful Bribie Island Combined Emergency Services Expo hosted annually by Volunteer Marine Rescue. Of course many of the services, particularly Fire and Rescue, Ambulance, Police and QGAir may need to leave at short notice to respond to a real emergency so, as always, were hoping they get a quiet day. Which would mean more people get to have a closer look, Michelle said. What: Brisbane Emergency Service Expo When: 9AM to 2PM, Sunday, 1 May 2016. Where: Teralba Park, Corner Osborne and Pullen Roads, Everton Park Find out more and follow us: #ESEBNE Facebook.com/ESEBNE Twitter.com/ESEBrisbane The 2016 Brisbane Emergency Service Expo is organised by Brisbane City SES Unit with the cooperation of exhibiting organisations Queensland Police Service, Queensland Ambulance Service, Queensland Fire and Emergency Services, Brisbane City Council, RSPCA, Lifeline, Marine Rescue Queensland, Energex, St John Ambulance (Qld), QG Air, Australian Red Cross, GIVIT, the Salvation Army, South East Queensland UHF Emergency Service Team (SEQuest) and the ADF.
