24.01.2022 What an outstanding caliber of presentations this evening! Les presented his icebreaker and spoke of his mother as a young girl. 12yrs of age she was removed from her Polish home and sent to Siberia due to the Russian/German war agreement. She later moved to Tasmania, via Africa, in 1948 where she met and married his father, also from Poland, in 1949.... Roland spoke of treasures, one being a road trip with his wife through WA: catherine gorge, bunge bungles, cable beach, exmouth, coral bay to randomly pick up a book titled 'the dutch downunder' in a newsagency in Canarvon. Flicking the pages he saw a photograph of his mother in 1998 meetingQueen Beatrice of Holland on her Australian tour - a treasure, indeed. Well done, gentlemen - a new standard was set tonight!

Toastmasters, mums and dads and all who are fortunate to attend the Statewide Schools 2019 Japanese Speech Contest being held at the University of Tasmania on Tuesday, wish every invited student to participate a most joyous day of language and learning! What a fabulous opportunity for them all.

14.01.2022 During last nights closing comments, club members were invited to say a few words or share a special memory of Maurice. Stoic, funny, inspirational, generous and kind were but a few... Stories of bees emerging from his pocket during competitions, his cheeky nature and mid-winter nude swims all brought a smile to our faces.... The meeting concluded with three cheers to Maurice. He will be missed.

04.01.2022 Area International Contest has been virtually held and in great news, we are excited to share in first place was Toastmaster Extraordinaire Neil Spark, and he will represent M20 at division on the 14 March 2021! Neil spoke about the self-critic and offered a wonderful analogy of new neurological pathways and bushwalking - sometimes you have to create a new path and walk it well to be known. Well done and good luck, Neil - you inspire us all!
03.01.2022 Ho Ho Ho, Merry Christmas!! Eastern shore Toastmasters celebrated the last meeting of the year in style, a delicious outdoor BBQ and a visit from the Big Fella's son - Santa 2.0. Rumour has it, 2.0 is wanting to take on a leadership role at Santa central and was seen talking with the VP of Education about which pathways would be best to support his public speaking.... A special presentation was also made to DT Neil Spark for his impressive first place at the recent M20 International Contest - we are beyond proud of your efforts and admire your determination! All of the Toastmaster's wish you a prosperous and exciting new year, and we look forward to hosting you next year at a meeting!
03.01.2022 Welcome to our newest club memeber, Enrico! Club President, Phil, presented his prepared specch from patheay - what is the role of the mentor? Mentor was asked by Odyssus to watch over his son Telemachus while away at war, centuries later the name continues for those who take a personal interest in and helps the inexperienced.... Neil presented a powerful speech on alcohol and it's contribution factor to death and injury on our roads. First timer awards went to Heathet for hosting the Table Topics, and also to Nina for Table Topics Evaluation - both fabulous efforts! Our next meeting is March 11 - pop the date in your diary!!
