25.01.2022 Regarding COVID-19 potential. Be assured we are following very strictly the guidelines of the Australian Institute of Sport in relation to training safely. Please see below... Australian Institute of Sport Coronavirus Information... Symptoms can range from mild illness to pneumonia. Some people will recover easily, and others may get very sick very quickly. People with coronavirus may experience: fever flu-like symptoms such as coughing, sore throat and fatigue shortness of breath Infected individuals who are currently unwell are far more likely to be contagious than infectious individuals who have no symptoms. A small number of cases have been diagnosed in Australia, all of which have been contracted outside of Australia. At the time of this update, there has been no local transmission within Australia. The risk of contracting COVID-19 in Australia is extremely low. Hand hygiene remains the single best action individuals can take to reduce their risk of acquiring any respiratory or gastrointestinal tract infection. While COVID-19 is a global concern the number of cases of influenza globally far outweighs the number of COVID-19 as reported on the Global Influenza Surveillance and Response System (GISRS). Annual influenza vaccination remains an important infection prevention measure. You should be vigilant with frequent hand washing using soap and water or an alcohol-based hand rub. Make sure you adhere to 'illness etiquette'. If you are coughing and sneezing, do so away from people into a tissue, your elbow or hands. If you cough or sneeze into your hands, make sure you wash your hands afterwards. Seek medical review early if you are feeling unwell. The risk of becoming unwell with COVID-19 without a history of international travel in the last 14 days is low. Exercise and participation in sport remains an important part of physical and mental health for everyone. For those who are well, they should continue to be active by engaging in exercise and playing sport. Regards Lindsay & Maria

12.01.2022 After the shutdown on Monday and a couple of 10+ hour days of techy stuff, we held our first ever live online classes last night and they worked really well. Very positive feedback, and with a few tweaks the new improved edition will arrive at 6pm this Sunday. Thanks to everyone that attended and looking forward to the next one. Coincidentally it was 27 years and 1 day since our very first lesson in Spring St in 1993.

01.01.2022 So...5 weeks tonight that we've been doing the zoom classes and it's been working really well. Actually, better than anticipated. It is proving to be a very positive dynamic and the amount of focus dedication and development that it's achieving is really great. Apart from the fact that we have all managed to stay connected and are socially interacting, everyone in their respective "training areas" are doing more than maintaining their standard. We are seeing real improvements... beyond what we thought we'd see. Taekwondo, as we know, is such a good mind, body, spirit, fitness system but to see it working remotely is a real WOW! The feedback has been great. Just want to say 1. thank you. Being able to continue TKD is a sanity saver. 2. I'm impressed by how well you two are managing the video class 3. a big shout out also to everyone who shows up: so much more fun to see the itty-bitty compadres on our screen than going alone (or alone + 1-2 roommates) So a BIG thanks to all the members for committing to the emergency format. We are very appreciative of your support. Lindsay & Maria
