25.01.2022 Greetings Space Cadet, Space is big. Really big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind-bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way to Tailem Bend, but that's just peanuts compared to space.... Space: The Final Frontier. These are the voyages of the Starship Ventureprise. Its four day mission To seek out new campsites. To discover uncharted galaxies. To make first contact with new species. To solve challenging Rover activities. And to boldly climb peaks that no one has climbed before (except Hike Team). So suit up, step through the Stargate, open the pod bay doors and board your Starbug, Starfury, Star Destroyer, Battlestar, Firefly, Leviathan, Nostromo, or TARDIS and blast off to galaxies unknown at SPACED OUT: EASTER VENTURE 2020. More than just a hike It’s a galactic adventure! Apply today >> http://easterventure.sa.scouts.com.au/applications.html

23.01.2022 EV Tip #72553. Drink plenty of water and stay hydrated. Start increasing your fluid intake now and you'll be in top form for Friday.

22.01.2022 Only 2 more sleeps!!

22.01.2022 EV tip #666: Brains and flesh aren't as nutritious as you might think, nor is 2 minute noodles. Think outside the box for your meal planning. A big list of ideas and recipes can be found in the training section of the EV website. http://www.easterventure.sa.scouts.com.au/training.html Also, why eating humans isn't good for you... https://youtu.be/0-CLhJ-a4IU

You can expect full refunds in the coming days. But come April 2 5 2021 next year Easter Venture will rise again!

07.01.2022 EV Tip #3439. Due to fire bans there are no fires and no stoves allowed on EV. We supply hot water at each campsite for dinner and breakfast. Your team will need two billies to collect hot water.

06.01.2022 To all Easter Venture Participants and Leaders, The event management team would like to advise a modification to the event plan for this weekend’s Easter Venture. Due to the total fire ban forecast for this Saturday (20th April 2019) we have decided to modify the event as follows:... - On Saturday morning all participants will travel by bus from the Friday night campground to Woodhouse Activity Centre (approx. 40 minutes). Note that the Friday night campground is on private property and thus we are not prevented from camping there by the total fire ban. - At Woodhouse on Saturday we will run the Easter Venture Activities as previously planned. Orienteering courses at Woodhouse will also be utilised during the day. We will camp Saturday night at Woodhouse. - On Sunday morning all participants will travel by bus from Woodhouse Activity Centre to Kuitpo Forest (approx. 40 minutes). Sunday is forecast as Low-Moderate fire risk across South Australia, thus all Easter Venture Sunday activities will proceed as planned at Kuitpo Forest. Please note that while Kuitpo Forest is not forecast as a total fire ban day on Friday (tomorrow), it will be a warm day (approx. 28oC). Please ensure you bring a hat, sunscreen, suitable light clothing and plenty of water. To reiterate, Easter Venture will proceed with plenty of great activities, theme and hiking. The volunteer team are very much looking forward to running the event and have put in enormous effort to prepare for the event and ensure it can still go ahead. Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow morning! (Don't worry the duck hunt will still go ahead ;) )
