16.01.2022 Hello to all our members, How are you in these uncertain and unprecedented times? I hope you're staying safe and comfy in your homes, perhaps taking advantage of the sunshine in your garden, or doing some of those jobs inside that we usually put off for 'one day'. If anyone needs help with anything, or a chat on the phone, I'm sure there'll be a member you can go to with a 'listening ear'. Don't be backward! We have used 'Zoom', a free, downloadable app used to facilitate o...n-line chats or meetings with groups of people, family or friends. You will need a computer, Ipad or Iphone for this, and someone could talk you through how to set this up. It's another great way to stay connected to your loved ones. I came across this website: www.supportfreoshops.com which not only gives us info on delivery/takeaway, but also provides much needed support to our local businesses, some who are struggling to stay alive. This website also covers Retail Shops who are open, (perhaps use these for purchasing gifts on-line) as well as Things To Do. There are several tips here, one might be perfect for you, give them a try. Of course, our restrictions are being updated daily, so choose things that work for the present day. The website is being updated often, so check in every now and then for the latest offerings. Let's stay positive, calm and connected and use all the hygiene and distancing instructions we've been given. We all need to look after each other so that when it's all over we can get back together for Fun, Friendship and Fellowship. Take care all, Annette
16.01.2022 Seven club members had great fun at Super Bowl Melville on Friday 28 June learning how not to bowl your ball into the gutter; some of us even had a few strikes! Garry won the game, closely followed by Jeff, and unfortunately someone had to come last, but my excuse is that Im still learning! Our happy faces show that we all had a great morning. We also enjoyed our lunch at Blend Cafe in Marmion Street after our game, with new member Maxine joining us.
14.01.2022 President Garry inducted two new Members at the November Meeting. A big welcome to Norman and Evelyn Paynton!

His engaging style while imparting his knowledge of this field held everyones attention. We inducted a new member, Ian Davie and 9 members shared lunch together at local restaurant Milanos after our meeting. A really good day!

Roel is a passionate advocate for Fremantle who only has the best ambitions for our port city. You’ll find his daily blog at freoview.wordpress.com
10.01.2022 In this time of self isolation and no Club meetings, thought youd like to see some pics from the river at East Freo this morning. A glorious day for a quiet walk, having our exercise. Just beautiful!

We also saw the Danger Zone, a lineup of WAs most deadly marine creatures. Lunch in a private dining room was delicious and plentiful and we were amazed at the value for money offered. 05.01.2022 Well, we have some catching up to do, a lot happened while we were away on holidays! Miriam Crandall, BA (Hons), History, UWA was our Speaker for the September meeting; her subject was the story of Emily Crawford, a British woman with a vision to create a suffragette settlement in Denmark, WA in the 1900s where woman had the right to vote and manage their own businesses. This did not come to fruition after pitfalls, misunderstandings, male chauvinism, etc. Miriams knowledge and research was shared in this interesting story and enjoyed by the members. 25 people attended including 5 visitors. Vice President Jeff had great pleasure in inducting six new members into the Club during the meeting, bringing our total to 33 members. Welcome to all!
04.01.2022 At our November Meeting on 20/11, our Speaker Anne Williams thoroughly entertained us. She has always had an interest and worked in fashion and gave us tips on travelling with only a small travel bag, accommodating all her well-coordinated clothes and a string of pearls. This takes her from casual chic to more formal occasions - with clever planning! Most amazing was her ability to strip off pieces of clothing to reveal a new outfit, which was a lot of fun! Even our gentlemen enjoyed it.

A great turnout of members and friends enjoyed the comfortable surrounds, crackling open fire and the plentiful nibble plates. And of course, the wonderful conversation! Our photos say it all, lets do this again!
