12.01.2022 EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT Well known local Physiotherapist Kathy Lummis is joining our EGOC family Kathy is commenting work from next Tuesday 9th February in our Sale Clinic.... Appointment times will run for an hour for initial consultations and 30 minutes for follow up consultations. Kathy will be available on Tuesdays and Wednesday’s between 9am -3pm. Here’s a bit about Kathy’s physio journey:- Kathy graduated as a physiotherapist in 2007 from the University of Newcastle. She has since worked in a range of hospital and private practice settings in NSW and Victoria and has a wide scope of experience with babies, children, pregnancy and post-natal, women’s health, sporting and neuromusclar conditions. Additionally, Kathy is qualified in dry needling and myofascial cupping. She also holds a Bachelor of Science (Exercise and Sport) and is passionate about managing sporting conditions through adequate rehabilitation, strengthening, load management, taping techniques and return to sport programs, especially in relation to upper limb injuries. More recently Kathy has started to focus on hand and upper limb injuries and will be working towards specialising in hand therapy. She will soon also be able to offer custom splints and braces too (unfortunately the course has been delayed until mid 2021, but stay tuned for updates). Empowering patients through education, self awareness and personalising some self management strategies are also key components of Kathy’s treatment sessions. I imagined Santa coming down our chimney and filling our stockings with gifts that he'd left on Christmas Eve ... I can still remember the excitement building and then trying to stay awake to see if I could hear the reindeer on the roof. It helps to move the arm backwards and also straighten the elbow. The word triceps stands for three-heads, which refers to the three attachment points of the muscle in the arm and shoulder region.
