14.01.2022 Relaxation for Chronic Pain? Deep breathing and gentle pelvic and spinal movement is an integral step in breaking the cycle of pain. Reducing the muscle tension and anxiety associated with persistent or chronic pain allows you to progress with your rehab, which can often be stalled. 14.01.2022 Happy Sunday! How are you moving your body today??

13.01.2022 As a Physiotherapist it is important to be transparent when treating our patients. At your first appointment we provide you with an action plan so you know what is involved in your rehabilitation journey and the importance of each step. Here's a snapshot of the road map we customise for each of our patients to achieve the best results possible 1 Removing your pain gives you fast relief. We find and eliminate the source of your pain by reducing inflammation, releasing musc...le tension, mobilising joints and/or reactivating muscles. 2 We then work with you to rebuild & restore your core and movement. Strengthening and stabilising protects yourself from re-injury and can be done in a variety of ways, including rehab, posture & movement analysis, correcting any underlying causes, participating in Pilates or other rehab based exercise classes, and more. 3 We help improve your performance so you can achieve your goals! We think this step is very important as it gives you freedom to do what YOU want to do. Seeing an exercise physiologist and participating in exercise classes means you will have the potential to reach goals you never thought you would achieve!

11.01.2022 Women's Health Physiotherapy What can I expect from my pelvic floor assessment? Your consultation will take place in a private & confidential environment.... Your Women's Health Physiotherapist will start by asking you some questions to get an understanding on your situation and get to know you. When you are comfortable, your Physio will then assess your pelvic floor. This may include a vaginal internal examination to allow your Physio to accurately assess you. Your Physio may also ask for you to complete a bladder diary to assess urinary dysfunction symptoms. Your Physio will explain and educate you on your specific problem and personalise a treatment plan to your specific needs. The treatment plan is discussed in collaboration with you to meet your individual goals so you can gain the confidence to take control of your health and wellbeing! If you have any questions about Women's Health Physio, please give us a call on 4323 7499. See more

10.01.2022 We find many patients that have pain, also don't sleep well. Here's some simple tips to help you get a better nights sleep! SET UP A COMFORTABLE & RELAXING SLEEP ENVIRONMENT - Avoid having TV's or laptops (especially work laptops!) in your bedroom. Consider and adjust light, temperature, airflow & noise (yes...this includes your snoring partner!). AVOID CAFFEINE & EXCESSIVE ALCOHOL BEFORE BED... LIMIT SCREEN USE BEFORE BED - Blue light screens signal your brain to "wake up" so try to avoid prior to going to bed EXERCISE DURING THE DAY - Exercise regulates brain chemicals that promote sleep, however try to avoid exercise close to bedtime as your body will need time to wind down! CONSIDER CHANGING YOUR PILLOW AND/OR MATTRESS - a supportive bed should allow your body to rest in a natural position. Ask your Physio or our receptionists about what pillows we stock!

10.01.2022 Have a listen to Russell as he explains the difference between and how to manage Osteoarthritis and Osteoporosis.

09.01.2022 As we age we lose muscle strength, bone density and neuro-muscular control. All this leads to a greater risk of falling because your muscles are weaker, and you don’t have the control to move quickly or correct yourself as easily meaning your balance is reduced. Our Physio's and Exercise Physiologists can give you strategies to reduce this risk with Brain, Balance and Strength training

05.01.2022 Our new website is up! Have you checked it out yet?? We have free eBooks to download, information on our services, and heaps of other resources. 03.01.2022 DO I NEED A REFERRAL TO SEE A PHYSIO? No, you don’t need a referral to see one of our Physiotherapists or Exercise Physiologists. Do you have more questions? Feel free to send us a message or give us a call!

02.01.2022 Have you had a Gait Scan Assessment?? Poor foot function may lead to hip, knee & back pain. When a Physio conducts a gait specific assessment it can help us understand and diagnose any underlying issues that could be contributing to your pain. We use special techniques and software to determine if a customised orthotic may be a solution, or if an alternative treatment plan is required. If you have foot pain, or suffer from hip, knee or back pain, please come and see us! Give us a call on (02) 4323 7499 to organise your assessment.
