25.01.2022 Banyule Support and Information Centre Inc. have relocated their Foodhub to The West Heidelberg Hub on Oriel Road and are providing food packages and frozen meals for locals doing it tough. Sadly, demand is increasing and last week they assisted over 250 families. Thank you to the hard working volunteers who package and distribute - we are very proud to support BANSIC’s work.

20.01.2022 Meet our Board! Anne Rogan joined the HDCE family in March 2017 when she joined the Board. Her background in education and project management has been a great strength for HDCE, as well as Anne’s local community involvement and knowledge. Anne is the Lead of Examinations and Assessment at the Royal Australian and NZ College of Obstetricians. She plays netball, walking, travel and gardening and is looking forward to entertaining friends and family post-COVID.



19.01.2022 As part of its COVID response Community Grants program, the East Ivanhoe and Heidelberg Community Bank today provided Banyule Support and Information Centre Inc. with a grant for $13,230 for their BANSIC Food hub project, funding the set up of their new operation to provide food parcels to disadvantaged Banyule residents in financial crisis. Shelving, freezers, refrigerators, security system, tables, kitchen equipment as well as painting and signage for the new centralized location on Oriel Road. A big thank you to the army of BANSIC volunteers who do such a great job for those locals doing it tough.

19.01.2022 Welcome Elizabeth to our team in Heidelberg ! Liz joins us a Customer Service Supervisor and comes with loads of experience as she approaches 17 years with the Bendigo Bank, most recently with the Preston branch. Outside of work Liz loves spending time with her Grandbabies - especially her 2 year old grandson! Post-COVID Liz is looking forward to sitting in the sun and holidaying where the sun shines .

18.01.2022 During these tough times it was great to support the Olympic Village Exodus Community with a grant of $5,500 for their Housing for the Homeless project to furnish a local house to provide affordable, secure and safe accommodation for people facing homelessness. Brother Harry Prout and his team of volunteers have put in a huge amount of work to refurbish the property, as always an amazing effort to support those most in need.

13.01.2022 Meet our Board...Russell Hutchins joined the Board of HDCE in 2009 and has been the Company Secretary since 2012. He has over 30 years experience in the banking and IT sector in both technical and commercial roles. Russell has really enjoyed his time with the Community Bank, supporting the many and varied groups of volunteers that make such a huge contribution to our community. He has two dogs, is a keen traveler and a regular runner. Russell is an avid collector of vinyl records and has recently completed restoring a 1968 Alfa Romeo! When life returns to normal he is looking forward to catching up with friends and family for a coffee - IN REAL LIFE!

12.01.2022 Meet our Board! Amy Coote joined the Board of HDCE in October 2018 and currently chairs the HR committee. She is employed as the National Fundraising & Engagement Manager with Ardoch and is a founding Executive Committee member of the Melbourne Women’s Fund. Amy likes to spend time with friends, loves to cook and sing! When lockdown is over she’s looking forward to going out for dinner with family and friends - aren’t we all!!

04.01.2022 Brian Simpson has been a Director Of Heidelberg Community Enterprise Ltd for 11 years, joining the Board following the opening of the Heidelberg branch. A Bank Executive with 40 years of service in the banking industry, Brian has served on many HDCE committees including Chair of HR. Outside of the bank, Brian loves his golf, walking, bike riding and watching the AFL (his son Adam coaches the West Coast Eagles!). When life returns to normal Brian is looking forward to domestic travel in his caravan, and hopefully a return to international travel.
