14.01.2022 Advice - Kimberley St, East Killara You may have received this notification around 7pm if you have alerts set up on the Fires Near Me app. There’s no need to wo...rry. A call was made in good faith with regards to a smoke plume sighted near the recent East Killara Hazard Reduction. Crews from Killara, NSW RFS Ku-ring-gai Brigade and Fire and Rescue NSW Station 037 Gordon responded and found the smoke had subsided shortly after arrival. After a patrol of the site, no breach in the containment lines were found and our trucks have since left the area. Many thanks to the vigilant residents keeping a lookout. Download the ‘Fires near me’ app from your App Store to receive notifications like these. Call 000 if you see unattended fire.

01.01.2022 Today an ANGOPHORA COSTATA (Sydney Red Gum) tree was planted in Gordon Park in memory of one of our friends and volunteers, Phil Langley. Phil gave his time to many organisations, including Killara Uniting Church, FOKE, Neighbourhood Watch, BushCare, and a large role with the Scouts. His children, Abby, David and Justin took part in the service, organised by Wal Knowles and Kathy Cowley, with help from Ku-ring-gai Council represented by Cllr Cheryl Szatow. It was lovely to work with you, Phil.
