24.01.2022 While we had hoped that this year we would open to the public at the end of June, there is too much uncertaintity and too many rules and regulations to be adhered to for covid. There we will not open again this year. Let’s hope 2022 is better

Anyone who was in the Sydney Northern Beaches region on or since Friday 11 December 2020 and arrives in Queensland on a flight from Sydney after 1am Saturday 19 December 2020 must go into hotel quarantine at their own expense for 14 days from the date they left the Northern Beaches, and get tested. 08.01.2022 COVID-19 Update As you've likely heard this morning, the Greater Brisbane region, which includes the council areas of Brisbane, Logan, Ipswich, Moreton and Re...dlands will be in lockdown from Monday 5pm to Thursday 5pm. While only the Greater Brisbane region is locked down at this stage, some restrictions apply to wider Queensland. With a quick response in the Greater Brisbane area, we are optimistic that this will be the circuit breaker needed to prevent any further spread of this highly infectious COVID-19 UK strain and there will be no need for further longer-lasting restrictions. This is also a reminder to all businesses to ensure that they have the mandatory electronic contact tracing measures in place as required by Queensland Health. From 5 pm this evening the following restrictions will be in place: Residents in the local government areas of Brisbane, Ipswich, Moreton Bay, Logan and Redlands can only leave home for one of these four reasons: 1. To buy essentials such as groceries or medications 2. Work or study if you can’t do either from home 3. Exercise in your local area 4. Healthcare or to provide help, care or support Masks must be worn anywhere outside of your home, including in ride shares, on public transport and in workplaces. Cafes, pubs and restaurants will be open only for take-away service. Schools in the locked down areas will remain open for children of essential workers. For the rest of Queensland, masks should be worn while indoors outside of the home and private gatherings are restricted to 30 people. To keep our most vulnerable Queenslanders safe, aged care, correctional centres, hospitals and disability service providers will close to visitors across the state. The restrictions will be reviewed on Wednesday evening. Resources & Support For Employers While at this stage the lockdown is expected to only take place for three days, it’s timely to take some practical steps so your business can continue to provide service, ensure safety of staff and meet employer obligations. CCIQ has a range of policies available to your business including a business continuity policy; workplace hygiene policy; workplace health and safety policy and working from home policy which are free to download and can be accessed here. Any Queensland business with questions or needing assistance in navigating their obligations due to these current restrictions can call CCIQ's Employer Assistance Hotline on 1300 731 988. For essential businesses who will continue operating, it is vital to have your COVIDSafe plans in place, you can find out more https://www.cciq.com.au/ For further COVID information as it relates to businesses, visit the Business Queensland website. We appreciate that the next few days will be very tough. We will continue to keep you updated with additional information as it becomes available.
