21.01.2022 This is how one of our patients Riff feels about the weekend Thank you Krissa for sharing this with us!
19.01.2022 Over the last few days we have found some great reasons to smile. First was from Grant at Grow Lush, we made a call asking if he could spare any sawdust for the stables out at Wauchope- and he was there within what felt like minutes. What a legend! The second lot of smiles came when Tamara and Werner Unterweger brought in a massive donation for us to pass on, We put together a bundle of goods that were dropped out to Telegraph Point. ... Just this morning, we found out there was a little heard of cattle low on feed... so we delivered 3 bales of hay purchased from our fund! Thank you to everyone who has donated already!
18.01.2022 How adorable is this kid Laddu is an 11 week old Scottish Fold from Bluebella Kittens. We don't see many of these guys - we were all quite smitten with her
18.01.2022 We have all prayed for the rain to go and the sun to come out, and it definitely felt like someone was listening on the weekend! Not only was the sun out, drying up the wet and shining a light on the devastation but, so were some our our incredible girls. Ash, Kirsten, Amannda and Belle spent their Saturday driving around seeing some of the locals affected by the floods lending an ear (and most importantly a shoulder) but also emptying out the trailer where they could. The t...railer was full of mixed goodies... Feeds for every four legged animal, bandaging and wound care supplies, fencing gear and donations for our human friends given to us by our beautiful clients. The first stop was out at Vicky Lawrence's (Local Horse Vet) property where we met the most beautiful mare named Gigi. Her wounds are very extensive and she requires around the clock care and materials. Thanks to the Go Fund Me page, we were able to give her owner a box of bandaging materials and feed to help for the next few days. Gigi's owner was ever so grateful and is happy for us to keep in contact and to continue watching over her recovery. The next stop was out at the Hollisdale Hall (In Pappinbarra, west of Beechwood), where the girls were met by open arms and not so dry eyes... the locals were very appreciative of the donations left for the local farmers. Before leaving they swung into Kylie Ewart's (Local Horse Vet) place to leave her a box of bandaging supplies, as she had been out that day treating horses from flooded affected areas. The last stop was out at Blackmans Point, Anthony from Ricardos Tomatoes helped the girls unload the last of the trailer and was calling locals to come and collect. Needless to say this was an emotional day for our girls. It was extremely rewarding and confronting, but Thankfully there were laughs had when they had to watch Belle hone in on her trailer reversing/parking skills... she is too determined for her own good. Thank you everyone to everyone that has already donated, and Thank you to every that keeps donating and supporting us. We are out there doing what we do best, helping our furry friends. https://www.gofundme.com/f/port-macquarie-flood-affected-an

15.01.2022 It's that time We have seen a number of cases of tick paralysis over the past few weeks. If your pet is not up to date with their prevention, now is a good time to get on top of this. There are a number of easy to use products out there including Nexgard and Bravecto - depending on your circumstances, find one that works for you and your pet. Remember, signs of tick paralysis may include:... * exaggerated swallowing reflex, possible gagging/retching * lethargy or slowness in activity * change in meow or bark * wobbliness in the back legs * changes to breathing - may sound like grunting If you see your pet showing any of the above signs, call your vet immediately and ask for advice.
15.01.2022 We are blown away by the amount of support we are receiving by our amazing community- fueling us to do more, and help more. A massive Thank You to Amanda Thompson, Claire McGregor and Christine Kemp. The small trip into us today will have a massive impact! If you find yourself with extra non perishable food, toiletries, toilet paper, candles, blankets, towels, pillows etc... you are more than welcome to drop them off to us and will be passing them on to those affected by the... floods. For our four legged friends that require medical treatment, you can help them buy jumping on to our Go Fund Me page. Donations of any size will help. https://www.gofundme.com/f/port-macquarie-flood-affected-an
14.01.2022 The weekend gone, has brought us a one in 100 year event, and while that is yet to conclude the magnitude of this event is well and truly felt throughout our community. Some of us have been fortunate to experience minor disturbances such as road closures or detours. And then there are those who have watched mother nature take everything from them, leaving them with the clothes on their backs and maybe a mode of transportation. We have all seen the pictures circulating, hous...es being swept away, businesses swollen, cars submerged, debris scattered across the place and the most difficult and heartbreaking seen lying amongst that would be our livestock that's been lost. As if we all haven't been through enough, of late... So what is the point of this post? Plain and simple, its to help. If you are able, click on the link below our Go Fund Me is waiting for donations so we can help our four and two legged friends find their feet again but, if you are not in the position to do so but find yourself surrounded by extra clothes, non perishable foods, water, blankets etc those donations will be greatly appreciated. https://www.gofundme.com/f/port-macquarie-flood-affected-an See more
