22.01.2022 Tonight, because NSW Police will not agree to access the records we asked for to help solve the gay hate crime attack on Alan Rosendale, we submitted more applications for information ourselves. So, we're on the job! But we want to say a MASSIVE thanks for new donations to our gofundme raising dollars as a Reward to anyone coming forward with information that leads to an arrest. If you know someone who was a young cop working Surry Hills in the late 80's, have them read this and get them talking. Ask them for names. Help us solve this once and for all. And please consider chipping in a few dollars if you can. Most importantly, we think, share widely! Here's the link: https://www.gofundme.com/f/reward-for-information-alan-rose

21.01.2022 A heartfelt appreciation to Mick Paddon for his long standing commitment to Eastside Radio, both as a presenter, a Board member and a volunteer. For more than 15 years he was a presenter of one of our weekly Drive programs who believed in developing a strong association with both local councils, especially Randwick and jazz music. Determined to keep our jazz brand alive and kicking, he has fought time and again to ensure this music continues to be heard, much to our audiences delight and the station’s benefit during Radiothon. A current member of the Programming Committee, Eastside Radio is grateful to have his historical knowledge of the past actions, members and decisions regarding direction. Thank you for your unwavering support of Eastside Radio Mick and congratulations on making 20 Years!

20.01.2022 Support Act has welcomed additional Government funding for COVID services and has just announced MusicKeeper and CrewKeeper grants of $2,000 for the coming months. The additional funding provided by the Australian Government through the Office for the Arts will enable Support Act to extend its crisis relief grants to all genres of artists, crew and music workers in need over the next few critical months. These modest Musickeeper and Crewkeeper grants of $2,000 ($2,700 for families) will not replace JobKeeper but they are intended to cushion the blow for those who remain largely unable to earn income due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions designed to protect public health. Learn more about Musickeeper and Crewkeeper Crisis Relief Grants and apply via the Get Help page on the Support Act website: https://bit.ly/3rubVXL

15.01.2022 TONIGHT on Queer For Your Ears Leadership. Right now, our news feeds show us what it isn’t. Tonight, we take a look at just one fine example of what it IS John Lewis (pic). Big Blue walks us through a little of the Life & Times of the great man, now sadly departed. Freedom Rider, Congressman, staunch Trump Adversary, John Lewis is already very much missed. Come hear what he stood for. And stay for solid sounds from the likes of Chaka Khan, Trinidad’s S.CO.TT, Tituss Burgess, and Australia’s own Max Lawrence, OH BOY, and Emma Donovan just to name a few. Stream Live or Listen Later on Demand from https://eastsidefm.org/queerforyourears/ Loves yas xo

09.01.2022 Vale Bunny Lee. A tribute to the legendary Jamaican producer this Saturday from 4pm in Bambu Hut... Thoughts on Bunny Lee by Brent Clough The mighty Jamaican producer Bunny 'Striker' Lee has passed at the age of 79. I sorted through dozens of records produced by him today, records I've collected over many decades. What an incredible legacy of music - a wildly diverse catalogue but for the most part always identifiable as Striker productions. He wasn't necessarily a musician o...Continue reading
