17.01.2022 With everything going on around us at the moment, the clinical trials team at East Sydney Doctors are still working hard on various new treatments for sexually transmitted diseases. We are currently conducting research on a potentially new form of treatment for Gonorrhoea infections. If you are sexually active, over the age of 18 and have not had any previous testing for gonorrhoea, you could be eligible for this study. We will reimburse you for your time and travel costs if you are eligible to be on the study. For more information, contact ‘clinical trials’ on 02 9332 2531 or email [email protected]

15.01.2022 Latest guidelines for people living with HIV: The limited data currently available do not indicate that the disease course of COVID-19 in persons with HIV differs from that in persons without HIV. Some people with HIV have other comorbidities (e.g., cardiovascular disease, lung disease) that increase the risk for a more severe course of COVID-19 illness. ... Chronic smokers are also at risk of more severe disease. Influenza and pneumococcal vaccinations should be kept up to date. https://aidsinfo.nih.gov//covid-19-and-persons-with-hiv-/0

11.01.2022 You can help protect yourself and others by downloading COVIDSafe...it takes 2 minutes..

10.01.2022 You may already be aware that there have been a number of positive COVID-19 cases in the surrounding area. At East Sydney Doctors we are keen to prevent the transmission of SARS-CoV-2 as much as we can, so if your health issue can be sorted out over the phone, please book a telehealth consultation with your doctor. You can still book an in-person appointment with your doctor if you need to physically attend the clinic for treatment. For your own safety and the safety of your community, if possible, please bring your own face covering/mask from home and wear it while you attend the clinic. Thank you so much.

07.01.2022 Great news about a second Covid vaccine.

04.01.2022 Your GP can now send you prescriptions as eScripts. These are sent to your phone as an SMS that links to a unique QR barcode (known as a ‘token’).You show this on your phone when you go in to the pharmacy to have your script made up. Or you can email the token to your preferred pharmacy to have your script ready in advance. An eScript replaces the paper prescription, but you may still choose a paper prescription if you prefer. The best things about eScript are: You can acce...ss your scripts whenever you need them, from wherever you are You’ll never lose another prescription You can order your script in advance, saving time at the pharmacy You can store these in an electronic wallet like ‘MedAdvisor’ which means you can easily keep track of your prescriptions and repeats .
