23.01.2022 Do you suffer from analysis paralysis? Our brains, whilst amazing things, are governed by how we use them. When we spend time overthinking things, we often end up "down the rabbit hole" and what started out as a minor concern, becomes a full blown crisis in our minds. If you find yourself stuck on something or focusing on a particularly negative aspect of a situation, the best thing you can do is walk away for a bit and do something for you. Read a book, go a for walk in the sunshine, spend some time with your pet/s. All these things will help you to reset and hopefully move beyond what's got you stuck. Remember that things are usually not as bad as we think they are and the more we focus on them, the worse they get. So be kind to yourself and gentle to your mind and allow yourself space to breathe.

22.01.2022 Snacking. We all do it and the reality is that sometimes its the best option we have available to us when were on the go. But are you snacking right? No one, especially not me, is going to tell you that you cant have the odd choccie here and there but if youre a consistent snacker, then you need to make sure you have options that are nutritious and delicious. If youre at home, this is a little easier as you can make something or have access to fresh fruit/veggies, but ou...t and about you need something easy. Consider snacks that contain a good ratio of protein, fat and carbs and if youre using snack bars or meal replacements, you need to make sure you keep an eye on sugar and calories. 18.01.2022 If we keep ourselves active, the benefits are both physical and mental, so incorporating exercise into your daily routine should be a high priority. Heres a few ideas for how you can get some extra movement in your day. 1. Park a few blocks away from your work (if you can) and walk to and from your car. If youre working late, make sure you have someone to walk with you if youre concerned about your safety.... 2. Take some time in your lunch break to go for a walk. Now this doesnt need to be a power walk. It could just be a stroll through a nearby park or a walk around the block a few times (depending on the size of the block). Getting movement in the middle of your day is so good for you! 3. Need to get something from the shops for dinner? Kill three birds with one stone. Pop on your walking shoes, walk down to your local grocer or market and pick something up there. Thats dinner sorted, walking done AND youre supporting a local small business! 4. Use public transport. Now this doesnt sound like exercise but unless you have a bus stop right outside your house, chances are public transport is going to require some amount of walking for you to get to it. So opt to bus or train your way to where you need to go every now and then and enjoy the ride with a nice book or relaxing music... much less stressful than traffic.

You have to be doing it for you. Not for the approval others. Not to "fit in". It must be done for the benefit of you.... External motivations are great short term but once were "in it" and putting in the work and making the lifestyle changes we need to, the opinions and thoughts of others mean very little. 17.01.2022 Lets be honest, do you wash your face before bed? You can tell me, its fine. Youd be surprised how many people dont. No amount of Botox or other expensive treatments can repair the damage you do to your skin by not washing your face at night. Take off your makeup and wash off other impurities with a gentle cleanser that does its job right so your skin can rejuvenate while you are resting at night.... Your body does most if its "repair work" while you sleep. So making sure you include a night time routine in your skin care is absolutely crucial when it comes to supporting better aging! If you have a rough idea of when youre going to bed, set a reminder on your phone about 30mins before that time to tell you its time to go look after your skin! Once youre in the habit of doing it, chances are you wont even need the reminder anymore. Talk to friends or family, you can even talk to me if you need to!... Make a plan. This plan is not just to help you get passed this challenge but also give you tools to make sure it doesnt pop up again. Think big picture. Weight loss is not something to be embarrassed about and TRUST ME, everyone has their moment of weakness, doubt or frustration. Just make sure you dont let those moments become a mindset.

Food is a part of life and is there to be enjoyed but that can be hard to do when youre spending every moment counting calories and grams of fat.... Our memories are often linked to food. Nans cookies, Mums Spag Bol and often the foods we have the most positive and lasting memories of may not fall into the "health food" category and guess what... thats ok! Food is about experiences. Its about living life and enjoying life, so dont worry if you sneak in the odd vino, choccie or cake.
