13.01.2022 A black man was killed by a police officer; that officer is currently behind bars awaiting trial. Politicians across the political spectrum in the United States... have vehemently criticized the crime. And yet BLM supporters have thrown their rationale and reason out of the window and their supporters are mindlessly retorting to plunder, riots, and extreme violence, killing even black people! Media is unjustly labeling these as peaceful protests. With a nation polarized, the white people are being forced to succumb by kneeling before the protesters. One cannot be certain if the white police officers kneeling before the mobs are doing so as a show of "true solidarity" or of sheer fear for their lives. That white people are living amid great fear and uncertainty, would be a gross understatement. Sins of the fathers cannot be sins of his children. Just because some ancestors of the white people committed heinous crimes against the black in the past that, too, over a hundred years ago cannot be a reason to instill and continue the hatred against them. If anyone is to say otherwise, then probably all the descendants and relatives of black men doing jail terms, must be put behind the bars by the same bizarre logic. What is more troubling is some people claiming to follow the tradition of Yoga supporting such acts of insanity by BLM by calling it a collateral damage. Vedic knowledge and wisdom, from which the Yoga and Ayurveda stems, never divides people. It is that heritage where everyone is a part of one great global family Vasudha Eva Kutumbakam. It is about universal acceptance and finding ways for peaceful coexistence. As Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. had said HATE cannot kill HATE; only LOVE can. If HATE is the DNA of any ‘movement’ or ‘revolution’ be advised, it will consume those driven by hate much before achieving anything else. I earnestly hope that WHITE people will find peace and BLM will see through their own nonsensical rhetoric and soon.
