25.01.2022 Nay went to Eaton Medical Centre to check out the FotoFinder automated total body mapping machine. Nay's entire skin was documented by the machine and any lesi...ons were highlighted. Suspicious moles were then examined by another machine and Nay found out in the one consultation she was safe. She also discovered a lesion on her eyelid she didn't know was there! Skin cancer is curable if it is detected early and this machine - the only one of its kind in the southwest - helps you keep an eye on your skin. In 12 months the pictures will be compared to the previous visit to note changes or see if any new lesions have appeared. IT'S AMAZING! See more

21.01.2022 Every minute of every day, a person with diabetes will face decisions, thoughts, worries and fears about their diabetes management, and the future impact diabet...es may have on their health. The daily burden of living with diabetes can be significant. Its estimated that people with diabetes face up to 180 diabetes-related decisions every day. Thats more than 65,000 extra decisions a year. Diabetes is relentless. Diabetes distress, anxiety and burnout are real complications of diabetes. This National Diabetes Week, Diabetes Australia is launching Heads Up on Diabetes - a new campaign focusing on the mental and emotional health impact of living with diabetes. National Diabetes Week provides us with an opportunity to have an important community conversation about the real impact diabetes can have on a persons mental and emotional wellbeing. This is a conversation we need to have. #NDW2020

11.01.2022 The incidence of melanoma of the skin has increased three-fold since 1990 with 15,229 new cases diagnosed in 2019. Last year 1,729 Australians died from melanoma one person every 5 hours. It is the third most common cancer amongst Australians and the most common cancer affecting 15 to 39 year-olds. Early detection of melanoma drastically improves survival rates. Automated Total Body Mapping (ATBM) is the latest technology out of Germany combining digital photography and de...rmoscopy with powerful artificial intelligence software to completely scan and analyse the body detecting potential melanomas which are then closely reviewed by a doctor with advanced training in skin cancer medicine. The use of this technology in skin checks is now offered by Dr Archer at Eaton Medical Centre & Skin Clinic. The link below is a news article from ABC on the use of the ATBM in North Queensland. More information will also be available on our website soon. https://www.abc.net.au//ai-skin-cancer-artificial/12916158
