19.01.2022 You may eat more chocolate than what is usual for you this weekend AND THAT IS OK! Food is more than calories and macronutrients. It is also celebration and joy and tradition, family, and culture. And EASTER is a perfect example of this.... Enjoy it in the moment. Enjoy the celebration and time with family and friends. And then move on.. don’t give it any more mental thought. It did not ruin your day, weekend, week or month. You do not need to start again on Monday or be good for the rest of the week You don’t need to feel guilty or shameful for what you ate this weekend. Food does not have a moral value. What do you do? Just go back to what is normal for you. Your regular daily and weekly routines. You do not need to do anything different. Because Nutrition is more than calories and macronutrients - and Easter is a perfect example of that. I also recognise and want to acknowledge how hard this is for some. I see you and I hear you. And I hope you have (and encourage you to get) the support network you need to help you through tough weeks like this one xx Ps and Happy Easter! #intuitiveeating #ditchthediet #antidiet #selfcare #foodfreedomfighter #haes #selflove #foodfreedomtherapy #nutrition #mentalhealth #mindfuleating #dietculture #food #allfoodsfit #health #edrecovery #foodfreedomjourney #findfoodfreedom #foodfreedome #foodfreedomforever #healthateverysize @ Worldwide See more

18.01.2022 The truth diet culture doesn’t share with you in it’s marketing campaigns. In beginning my PhD research and in writing the proposal for my application last year I’ve felt astounded by how so much of the research around the impact of dieting has just seemingly been ignored by society. Research papers dating back to the 80’s and 90’s have demonstrated the negative side effects and impact dieting can have on an individual and yet diet culture is still as overwhelming as ever.... However, dieting may result in all of the above images (and more). I have hope that things will change, and that anti-diet health care professionals only get a louder voice as time goes on. I have HOPE... but we are a long way off yet. Evidence comes from a BODY of work not just one paper, but a few of the studies that support the above include: (Hazzard et al 2020), (Johnson & Wardle 2005), (Bacon et al 2005), (Leong et al 2015) and (Mann et al 2007). . #dietculture #antidiet #antidietculture #antidietrevolution #antidietdietitian #antidietdietclub #dietculturedropout #dietculturesucks #nomorediets #nomoredieting #dietitian #nutritionist #disorderedeating #eatingdisorder #mentalhealth #health

15.01.2022 You DON’T NEED to swap this for that. YOU CAN ENJOY THEM BOTH.... The key message here is that ALL foods fit. With no exceptions. There is a time and a place for all foods. You do not need and SHOULD NOT swap pasta for zoodles but that doesn’t mean you can’t ever eat zucchini spiralized into noodle shape. You do not need and SHOULD NOT swap pizza base for a cauliflower base, but that doesn’t mean you can’t try it to see if you like it? You also do not need and SHOULD NOT swap rice for grated cauliflower, but that doesn’t mean you can’t ever have or enjoy grated cauliflower. Far out, and you do NOT need and SHOULD NOT swap icecream for nice-cream but that also doesn’t mean you can’t ever enjoy frozen banana.. You get the picture. In giving yourself permission to eat all foods, unconditionally, with no rules or restrictions (mental and physical) - you can EXPLORE what you really like and dislike. Maybe you don’t actually like bananas? Or maybe you discover you love cauliflower, WHO KNOWS only you. Also, variety is key and all of the above foods offer something different nutritionally, texturally and in flavour. Explore what you like and what you don’t like. What makes you feel good and satisfied and what doesn’t. Challenge diet culture and leave the rules and restrictions behind for good (you won’t regret it). #nondietapproach #nobsnutrition #dietculture #nutritionist #food #health #antidiet #antidietapproach #antidietdietitian #dietitian #sandwich #sanwiches #mindset #healthyrelationshipwithfood #food #health # See more
