25.01.2022 COVID-19 EFFECTS BOOKINGS With the impending 3-day lockdown, most students will not attend school from tomorrow unless they are children of essential workers who are required to attend the worksite or vulnerable children.... The OSHC Service will continue to be open for BSC and ASC during the lockdown but will only be offering care for children of essential workers required to attend the worksite and vulnerable children. All BSC and ASC bookings and charges for the next 3-days have been removed - this means that no children are currently booked into care for the next 3-days. If you require care in the next 3-days because you are an essential worker required to work outside of the home or your child is at risk, you should book in now through the My Family Lounge App on your mobile phone. You should make any required bookings for the next 3-days before 6:00pm tonight as capacity will be identified and staffing arrangements made at that point. DROP OFF & COLLECTION As a friendly reminder, there are 2 Transfer Zones for drop off and collection; 1 for children being cared for in the hall and another for children being cared for in the junior building. Parents are asked to remain in these areas when entering the Service. After 5:00pm tonight, masks are required to enter either building. If you do not have a mask, you must not enter. As we receive further information, we will pass it on to you.
25.01.2022 Update on Power Outage - The power will not be restored to the P&C building and Community Hall until tomorrow mid-day. This should not be an issue due to the Lone Pine Koala Excursion. Drop off will be to the Community Hall as per normal but breakfast will be affected with only alternate items such as muffins and fruit being offered.
25.01.2022 Last week our prep children had their Easter hat parade and wanted to share how amazing their hats were! The children loved explaining how they came up with their hat designs and how the hats were made. They also shared with us their beautiful Easter song that they learnt at school! L.O5.1 Children interact verbally and non-verbally with others for a range of purposes L.O5.2 Children engage with a range of texts and gain meaning from those texts

12.01.2022 If you received Child Care Subsidy (CCS) for 2018-19, you must confirm your income with Centrelink. This includes CCS paid directly to you and CCS paid on your behalf to a child care provider. Most parents have already confirmed their income, but if you havent, do it now. If you dont confirm your 2018-19 income by 30 June 2020, your CCS will stop from 13 July 2020.... To confirm your income with Centrelink, you and your partner need to either: lodge your tax returns with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) complete an Advise non-lodgement of tax return with Centrelink, if you dont need to lodge a tax return. You complete the Advise non-lodgement of tax return in your Centrelink online account through myGov or your Express Plus Centrelink mobile app. If youve already confirmed your family income for 2018-19, theres nothing else you need to do. Find out more about Child Care Subsidy on the Services Australia website.

09.01.2022 NOTICE CHANGE IN P&C PRESIDENT Dear Community, After 2 years as P&C Treasurer and a further 3 years as P&C President, at this weeks AGM I pushed the successi...on button on the President role, with my Vice-President of 2 years Cameron McInnes stepping up (congrats Cameron!). Its been an amazing journey, but with my youngest child in her 7th year at EHSS, my time is closing and its vital that this P&C continues with a strong set of hands leading it. I will continue in the Executive as Vice-President this year to assist with handover and support the community. We have achieved some amazing things as a team over the last few years, with some standouts such as a rated Exceeding OSH Service, over $1.2 million of otherwise unfunded school enhancements such as the P&C/junior OSH building, air-conditioning, tuckshop renovation, outdoor learning centre (aka Sandstone Point), and being finalists in the 2019 P&C of the Year awards. As well as leading the way in how to run P&C's, we have a great culture, amazing staff and much valued volunteers. Its been a huge transformation journey and one that I am immensely proud of, where we went in with full commitment and managed to make a positive change. It's been my great pleasure supporting this school community over many years. I would thank everyone who has supported me personally and professionally through this journey and I have full confidence that this change will deliver a continuation of our positive trajectory, and a bright future for this P&C (and by default your children's opportunities) under Cameron. All the best, stay safe! Glen Duff EHSS P&C Vice-President P.S - Cameron (left) and myself (right). Say hi if you see us around ;)
08.01.2022 Last week the JR children were busy doing Volcano experiments! The children worked collaboratively to construct a volcano out of playdough, making sure they had the right shape and plenty of detail, before filling the volcano with Bi-carb soda and red food colouring. Once the volcano was ready to erupt, we poured in the vinegar! The children discussed and hypothesised as to how and why those ingredients react that way when mixed together. The children had so much fun, that we had to refill and erupt our volcano 3 times! L.O4.2 Children use a range of skills and process such as problem solving, enquiry, experimentation, hypothesising, researching and investigating L.O5.1 Children interact verbally and non-verbally with each other for a range of purposes
06.01.2022 Great news - We have been successful in gathering enough supplies to provide afternoon tea for next week although we may not be able to offer as much choice or variety. We will also be able to continue offering cereal and fruit for breakfast. We had amazing afternoons on Wednesday and Thursday when we transported the after school care session completely outside so the children could spread out. The weather was beautiful and the children really enjoyed experiencing the change. We will most likely try to continue this on mid-week days when we have the highest numbers of children attending during this ongoing period of social distancing.
