20.01.2022 Stage 2 of our renovations are nearing completion and we’re finally moving into our new area! Below is a glimpse of some of our new and improved rooms including our laboratory, surgery, kitchen and pre-treatment areas. We’re loving all the extra space and can’t thank Gerrard and his team from Stirling Building Creations Pty Ltd enough for doing an incredible job like always!

20.01.2022 Dr Allen has had a busy start to his Saturday morning! He had to perform a caesarean on beautiful Mia the Asian Shorthair cat who was having difficulty delivering. She managed to birth five healthy babies earlier this morning, however the final one just didnt want to come out. Dr Allen successfully delivered her last little girl who is doing extremely well along with mum. Dr Allen is actually the first veterinarian in Australia to perform a caesarean on an Asian Shorthair cat which we thought was pretty special!

20.01.2022 UPDATE: Theodore has been adopted! How cute is little Theodore! Theodore is the only rescue kitten we have looking for a home at the surgery. Hes an adorable boy with fluffy tabby markings and a very loving personality. Theodores adoption fee is $210. 19.01.2022 How gorgeous is Ziggy the 4 year old Greyhound! Ziggy boarded with us over the weekend while her fur parents got married. She’s such a happy and bouncy girl who was a pleasure to look after!

19.01.2022 Beautiful Tilly is a 1 year old Kelpie X who is currently in the care of the wonderful CKs Paws - Paws Are Worth Saving Inc. Qld. Tilly got herself into a bit of trouble last night and came in today for a check up with Dr Allen. Luckily, all is okay and Tilly is expected to make a full recovery. She will soon be available for adoption, so keep an eye out on the CKs Paws page as they rescue lots of adorable dogs and cats!

19.01.2022 UPDATE: Lacey has been adopted! How gorgeous is Miss Lacey! Lacey is a 2 year old tortoiseshell cat who was rescued from Warwick Pound along with her litter of kittens. Her kittens have all found wonderful new homes and now its Laceys turn to find her happily ever after. Shes such a sweet little lady who is super affectionate and smoochy. 18.01.2022 How precious is Fluffers the 7 week old Miniature Long Haired Dachshund! Fluffers stayed with us yesterday to have some minor dental work done with Dr Allen. He was such a good little boy and received lots of cuddles from the nurses while he was in!

Dr Allen has been treating their pets for over 20 years and Norman is the latest addition to the family. We cant wait to watch this little guy grow over the coming years!

16.01.2022 How sweet is Miss Pixie the Sugar Glider! Sugar Gliders are palm-sized Possums that can glide over 150 feet and are closely related to Kangaroos. Our lovely Vet Nurse Renee is an experienced wildlife carer and she has raised Pixie since she was only a baby. Pixie started off at 24 grams and now weighs over 150 grams which is amazing. We love getting to spend time with Pixie when shes at the surgery and Dr Allen couldnt resist getting a photo taken. It wont be long until this little girl is released back into the wild!

13.01.2022 We thought wed give you all an update on our little Australian Wood Duck! Hes doing super well and is enjoying the company of his new friends. As luck would have it, someone in the local area found another duckling that was all alone and brought it into us yesterday. The new duckling has integrated nicely and we couldnt be happier. There is something we would like to address though. To the individuals who made a complaint against us to the Department of Environment and Sci...ence, please find something more productive to do with your time. This duckling is in the best hands possible. Dr Allen has 40+ years experience as a veterinarian and is very capable of providing it with the necessary care and treatment. He came out to the surgery after hours on Sunday night to assess the duckling after its horrible ordeal. All the ducklings and chickens are being housed in a state of the art incubator and are receiving round the clock care. Instead of focusing on our ability to care for the ducking, perhaps everyone should focus their attention on how it came into our possession in the first place. If people just slowed down and kept an eye out when driving, this whole situation could have easily been avoided. Rest assured, we are doing everything we can for these little guys and we wont tolerate anyone trying to bring us down for it. See more

11.01.2022 How happy does Artichoke look in his furrrever home with Lauren! We can’t believe it has already been a year since he was adopted from us!

11.01.2022 On Sunday night, an individual driving along Lilley Rd in Warner hit and killed a mother and father Australian Wood Duck who were attempting to cross the road with their babies. There were over ten babies and unfortunately only two managed to survive the ordeal. A Good Samaritan kindly brought the remaining two into us, however one had a severe injury to its leg and sadly passed away the following day. We now have one healthy baby left. Unfortunately these littles ones are pa...rticularly prone to stress, so its important to handle them as little as possible. They also dont fair well without company, so we would like to try and find either a domestic baby chicken or duckling to put with him. The local produce store doesnt have any babies available at the moment, so we are hoping by putting this out on Facebook we may have some luck. Dr Allen has a special incubator at home which he uses, however this little one wont have a good chance if we dont find him a friend. Dr Allens family have had a lot of success over the years with raising wild ducklings and releasing them on their property once old enough. So if anyone knows someone who has baby chickens or ducklings, please get them to call us on 3264 7700! Thank you

10.01.2022 UPDATE: Lily’s owners have been found - she has sadly crossed the Rainbow Bridge FOUND! Please share my photo far and wide! This elderly, blind, dilute tortoiseshell cat was handed into us this morning after she was found in the middle of the road in Eatons Hill. Some very kind people rescued her from the corner of Handel Ct and Saraband Dr. She isn’t microchipped and is in quite poor condition. We have shaved the back of her coat as it was very matted. 10.01.2022 Paralysis Tick Warning Over the past 24hrs we have admitted three animals with tick paralysis. Please ensure your dogs and cats are up to date with some form of prevention. You can always contact us on 3264 7700 and we can provide advice on the best tick prevention for your pet. Common symptoms include:... Incoordination Weakness Collapse Vomiting or retching Difficulty swallowing Difficulty breathing Change of bark or meow Deterioration can be unpredictable and rapid in particular cases and some animals may have prolonged and unexplainable recovery. Very severe cases require intensive care, including artificial ventilation to maximize recovery rates, and generally, only tick removal, use of tick antitoxin serum (TAS) and antibiotics have a major effect on overall mortality.

10.01.2022 How cute is this Murray River Short-Necked Turtle! This little girl was brought in yesterday after someone found her wandering the local area. Can you believe she will eventually grow to the size of a dinner plate! She will be cared for by Dr Allen until she is big enough to enter our turtle rehabilitation pond at the surgery!

George hasn’t had the best luck in the past few weeks so we’re hoping it will be third time lucky for this poor boy. Unfortunately he was returned to us for rehoming in less than 24hrs through no fault of his own. George is approximately 6 years old and we are hoping to find him a stable and secure home where he can relax and enjoy his retireme...nt years in peace. 03.01.2022 Say hello to beautiful old Winny the latest arrival at EH Vet! Winny was given to us by another lovely vet surgery after she handed into them as a stray. Despite their best efforts, no owner could be found as she wasn’t microchipped and no one came forward looking for her. They tried contacting other rescue groups and sadly no one would take Winny on. We estimate she is 10+ years old and we aren’t even certain if she has been desexed as no tattoo is visible in her ear. ...Even though Winny doesn’t look too impressed in the photo below, she’s the most loving and affectionate girl. Everyone has fallen in love with Winny and we are going to look after her from this point forward. Her blood work has shown that she is in the early stages of kidney disease which is evident by the large amounts of water she drinks. Despite this, it can be managed with medication and Winny can still live a very happy life. Winny isn’t available for adoption at this point in time as we need to see how she goes over the next few weeks. We’ll keep you all updated with her progress! See more

Scully arrived into our care yesterday after she was given to us for rehoming by another lovely rescue group. Scully was unfortunately attacked by a dog recently, so she has a few stitches along the back of her neck. Despite her scary ordeal, shes the most loving and affectionate little cat. Scully is searching for someone special who can provide her with some yummy food, a comfy bed and lots of cuddles. If you look after her and keep her safe, she will give you endless love in return.
