20.01.2022 Our Eaton Basketball Association - 2020-2021 Domestic Season Registrations CLOSE very soon! Players MUST register with a team! (Have a Team Code) SportsTG DOESN...’T ALLOW INDIVIDUAL PLAYER REGISTRATIONS! TEAM REGISTRATIONS CLOSE: Thursday 1st October 2020 PLAYER REGISTRATIONS CLOSE: Thursday 8th October 2020 We remind you all that ALL online registrations WILL require 24 hours to process. Please don’t leave player registration to the last minute. So please register at least 48 hours prior to your fixtured game, if you are a new player on a team. ALL Basketball Associations now operate with & are required to use the Courtside Scoring System (on iPads). This system is a standard/compulsory operating system & is NOT in the control of Eaton Basketball Association. The only changes the system allows on GameDay is the changing/amending of player’s numbers, but again a player MUST be registered. All you need to do is register & your child (player), will appear in the Courtside Scoring system, upon insurance payment & the automated registration process, within the online program, within that 24 hours. WE NEED A SECRETARY The role of the Secretary is to support the Chair in ensuring the smooth functioning of our Eaton Basketball Asociation Committee. In summary, the Secretary is responsible for: Ensuring meetings are effectively organised and minuted Maintaining effective records and administration Upholding the legal requirements of governing documents, regulations, constitution & bylaws (where relevant). Communication and correspondence It is important to note that although the Secretary ensures that these responsibilities are met, much of the work may be delegated to paid staff or volunteers. Given these responsibilities, the Secretary often acts as an information and reference point for the Chair and other committee members: clarifying past practice and decisions; confirming legal requirements; and retrieving relevant documentation. Come on board & join an awesome group of volunteers, trying to do their best in the interest for everyone to enjoy basketball. WE NEED YOU! 14.01.2022 WE ARE LOOKING FOR A FEW MORE PLAYERS TO JOIN OUR - Eaton Basketball Association - (Eaton Eagles)- Representative Teams COME & FLY LIKE AN EAGLE!! We are curren...tly hosting our Eaton Basketball Association Representative Team Trials. Our second trials are this coming Sunday & we REALLY need a few more players in our teams, down at our Eagles Nest. (Eaton Recreation Centre) We don’t want to disappoint & have any our players having to miss out, on this awesome experience. Come & represent Eaton Basketball Association at: * BSW Regionals Carnival (October/November 2020) * BWA Country Championships (January/February 2021) * BWA State Championships (TBC) We have "new" feathers (uniforms), for all our Representative Teams, so be one of the first, be on on the courts & be a part of our history, in the new style uniforms.. 12.01.2022 HEY REF!! We Want You!! A big shout out to all available referees, we need to hear from you!... We need all our existing referees, new refs & referees wanting to referee within our great Association, to register your interest in assisting us again this upcoming 2020-2021 domestic basketball season & to represent EBA, at various basketball competitions/tournaments throughout the next few months. Basketball refereeing provides a very rewarding opportunity to "make a difference", be a part of our great game & make basketball the best it can be. Eaton Basketball Association referees are some of the best, but we can always be better. We are proud to say, that we pay our referees, some of the best rates for referees, within the South West, so it is also a great way to earn a bit of cash too! 10.01.2022 WE NEED A COURT MANAGER (possibly two, if needed) Are you looking for a few paid hours a week & be able to watch basketball?? We are looking for a Court Manager...(s), to join our team. Being a paid position, what better way to be active in your local sporting community, be involved with a great sport, you will be a part of a very proactive committee & "bonus" get some money in your bank account for doing all this. Our Domestic Basketball Season operates on: Thursday evenings Friday evenings Saturday mornings Able to use or learn to use "Courtside Scoring System" Maintain (Excel) records of basic statistics - win/lose for each team. Distribution of MVP player voting slips for each game Attend Thursday/Friday evenings & Saturday mornings (or job share if two suitable applicants agree) Distribution/Collection of Game Balls & Warm-up Balls Provide basic medical/first aid assistance (if requested) Setup & pack up on Game nights/days Work with Registrar with Game Fixtures There is always a few committee members in attendance, if you ever need help. 08.01.2022 WE NEED A REFEREE CO-ORDINATOR!! (Paid Position) With our 2020-2021 Domestic Season soon approaching, we will need to make sure we have some great referees agai...n this season. We have a pool of great referees & always welcome more EBA committed referees to "run on to the courts" for us. BUT... in having great referees, we need an awesome Referee Co-ordinator to arrange/schedule our referees, mentor our referees, train & to develop our referees to become better each season & each game. We are looking for a Referee Co-ordinator who has some prior experiences in managing referees, able to provide excellent coaching & opportunities to our referees & always happy to give 'pointers", to make our referees "be true champs of the court". We need to develop many of our referees to a Level 1 accreditation or higher, in the near future, as we do have a lot of younger referees, who do an awesome job & could be up for the challenge. Our preference is for our Referee Co-ordinator to be available & be able to commit to Thursday & Friday evenings & Saturday mornings or be able to arrange coverage in their absence. This role will be open to the successful applicant being able to facilitate, organise & operate their own programs & operational processes for our referees. We request your attendance at our General Meetings & reporting to the Committee any updates, outcomes or requests (when possible). This is a "PAID POSITION", we are currently still determining remuneration amounts for our paid positions, over the next week or so. 08.01.2022 Many of our junior players at Eaton Basketball Association, love competing in the BSW Regional Carnivals, BWA Country Championships & BWA State Competitions.. B...ut this can not be possible without a person (or a few people, under the guidance of a Representative Team Co-ordinator) to arrange/organise tryouts, training sessions, registrations, collection of fees, liaising with the coaches & team managers. So we really need a committed, enthusiastic, well organised person to "be a part of our team" & become our Eaton Basketball Association (Eaton Eagle) Representative Teams Co-ordinator. Duties: Liaison with Basketball South West Liaison with Basketball WA Registering our teams in each competition (Regionals, Country Championships & State Championships Distributing of our new & existing uniforms to each team (via Manager) Organising (with our Referee Co-ordinator) Referees for these competitions Registering (with assistance from Eaton Eagle A-Grade Co-ordiantor), the senior team for these competitions also. Adhering to Rules & Requirements set by the organising entities. 07.01.2022 REMEMBER: If you are wanting to play basketball, but having trouble finding a team or forming a team... We will be facilitating a Build a Team meet, greet & h...opefully will be able to form additional teams with a get together/catch up. Head down to the courts at Eaton Recreation Centre on Wednesday 2nd September 2020 from 6:30pm to 8:00pm. or Wednesday 9th September 2020 from 5:00pm to 6:30pm For both our boys & girls Domestic Basketball Competitions in each age group: 10’s & Under 12’s & Under 14’s & Under 16’s & Under 20’s & Under (This age group, may be division based for the vast wide range in age difference). With registrations closing in a few weeks & our competitions starting, this may be your last chance or opportunity to be part of a team & hit the courts, for this upcoming season! Eaton Basketball Association WILL NOT be providing coaches or team managers OR be providing uniforms, for these newly formed teams, so there will be a bit of work required by you guys, shortly thereafter. Everyone wants their kids to play... So, we encourage ALL parents, to please consider stepping up &/or finding someone, they know to coach these teams, for them to continue & bring enjoyment to your kids. Teams will also need a separate person to be the Team Manager & coordinate their newly formed team. (We will try to assist these people, wherever possible). We will try help fast track your team’s basics, by also trying to provide you with suggestions for possible/available team names & contact details for Basketball Uniform suppliers & other related providers on our Facebook page &/or our Eaton Basketball Association website. Hope you see as many of you there. WE WANT TO HELP YOU HAVE YOUR GREAT KIDS, COME & PLAY FOR US!!
