22.01.2022 I have decided to create a page on which we can share ideas about great spots to take elderly parents or people with limited mobility for an outing. My mother is 95 years old and still enjoys a nice view, nice service, some where with children, animals to fuss over but definitely no steps. Over the course of this blog I will share the places that Marianne and Trevor have discovered. Good tea and coffee is an important ingredient but also a flexible menu to cope with my mums... limited capacity for food. That’s all for now. We are about to head off to Lewers Gallery at Emu Plains which has good accessibility and good meals. Talk to you later Trev

22.01.2022 Good to see other venues that are wheel chair friendly

21.01.2022 We had a great deal of fun on Sunday, taking a walk over the newly opened Yandhai Bridge over the Nepean River at Penrith. Some lovely folk gave mother a cuddle of their King Charles Cavalier. It was a lovely gesture from total strangers, but it made my mothers day. They where lucky to get it back. Then it was off to the Heritage Cafe at the Plaza for a lovely lunch.

19.01.2022 We recently stopped in for lunch at the House of Herbs and Roses on Old Northern Road Dural. Difficult entry with three steps and no disability toilets. Notwithstanding there is outdoor seating on nice days and the service and meals were excellent. Most of all they specialise in quality teas.

15.01.2022 I mentioned earlier that we enjoy our visits to the Cafe Red at Windsor. Well last week was not exception. The food is great and the caring service from the staff very touching. Windsor is a great spot on Sunday because the market is on in the Main Street and everyone is friendly and Mum gets to pat lots of dogs.

13.01.2022 Went out this weekend with Mum to Flower Power at Penrith/Orchard Hills. When we got there the car park was packed but we have been told that we can drive into the landscaping materials area and park near the ramp that leads straight to the cafe, which we did. They have a new menu, which includes more variety and more kids meals. I had my favourite Eggs Benedict Marianne had some gozleme ish fritters and mother had her ham and cheese sandwich. Always pleasant and check... my coffee out. And they have a bigger one. Mum always wants to buy us some plants but we always decline. She always kicks in $5.00 for the meal. Highly recommended spot but need more disabled parking at front car park. Trev

11.01.2022 I really have got to say the Flower Power at Penrith still is the stand out for accessibility, simple menus, interesting surrounds with the nursery and a good cup of tea. Ticks all the boxes.

10.01.2022 Just enjoyed a lovely Mother’s Day lunch at Emu Sports Club at Leonay. The staff have been fabulous even a free glass bubbles for all the Mums Nice touch easy access but a long way around the club to get in with a wheel chair.
