23.01.2022 Team Adventures: Christmas in July Christmas in July has become an Eat Speak Learn tradition over the past few years. This year we celebrated in the new clinic with a full festive feast, hilarious party games and questionable singing and dancing.

14.01.2022 Flexible therapy options At Eat Speak Learn we are in an awesome spot to be able to offer some wonderful flexible therapy options to suit your family’s needs and interests while still kicking goals! Another fantastic opportunity for our clinic is our proximity to our local shopping centre. A short walk across the park means we have access to a functional zone to work on many skills targeted in clinic and see how they are generalising to everyday life.... It allows use to work on social skills and language use for independence in an environment where people visit as part of their everyday lives. Staff have worked on purchasing and returning items with clients, writing, and buying a shopping list and many other skills that are transferrable to everyday life. Several local cafes are also familiar with Eat Speak Learn staff and will work with our clients to make an order and use financial literacy skills which is useful in many everyday environments.

14.01.2022 Kiara and Lauren are attending a 2 day feeding therapy workshop today and tomorrow run by the fabulous Feeding Therapy Australia. We are excited to be able to bring home some new tips and tricks for all our families

11.01.2022 Our team is ready to go for Bandanna Day. One of the ways we're going to support this great cause is to sponsor a bandanna purchase for every child that comes in today. To find out more: https://www.bandannaday.org.au/about #canteen #BandannaDay

06.01.2022 First Then Visuals A first then visual helps to show a sequence of events of activities that will take place. Visuals are put on a board to show the order of the activities that will occur. These can be used with any pictures and be presented in paper or digitally (e.g. iPad app). A first then visual can be a helpful tool to support children through transitioning between activities or events. It can be used to give clear expectations and to prepare the child for what is g...oing to happen next in a visual way rather than only relying on verbal instructions. Some examples of when to use a first à then visual can include: Dressing: First socks on then shoes on Bedtime routine: First bath then bed Moving to a preferred activity: First shower then TV Packing away: First play then pack away

04.01.2022 Our Adventures: Llama Farm At the clinic, one of our values is #keepitfun. We not only have tons of fun with our clients and their families (think dance parties, games, dress ups and slime), we also have a bucket load of fun as a team. ... We love to make other’s day with the simple things such as making a cuppa for someone, or we play by making sneaky plans like a practical joke! We love creating memories that we can laugh about throughout the work week and lighten the load! One memory that often comes up is our trip to the local llama farm earlier in the year. Picture this, we arrived at the dusty and rusted llama farm on the outskirts of Canberra in a sparkly white hummer limo. We spent the afternoon feeding the llamas (while watching our fingers), eating and drinking and chatting away to the passionate owner. From that day forward, all of us became lovers of the humble llama whether we liked it or not!

02.01.2022 It's that time of the year when you start holding team meetings at YogurtLand!

01.01.2022 As of this coming Monday 22 March, gone will be the days of completing the online form before each appointment! Instead, we will have a much simpler process where you will check in via the Check in CBR app on arrival for your appointment, show the green tick to our reception staff who will then let your speech therapist know you have arrived. If you need to change your appointment to an online session or need to reschedule/cancel, just give our team a call.
