25.01.2022 MOOG SERVICE CENTERS NOW OFFERING SUB 37 UPGRADE Current Sub 37 owners who would like to update their synthesizer with the hardware revisions found in the newly released Subsequent 37 can now contact EAV to upgrade their instrument. The upgrade is offered in two configurations:... The Full Sub 37 Upgrade: Replaces Analog Board (Subsequent sound engine), Right-Panel Board (high-powered headphone amp) and Key-bed with those found in the Subsequent 37. Key-bed Only Update: Installs the Subsequent 37's upgraded Key-bed for improved playability and swift action. These upgrades have just been made available by Moog, and hence we have no stock of the kits as yet . We are currently working out Australian pricing and installation costs, and ascertaining stock availability from Moog, as well as an ETA for arrival here. If you are interested in either of the upgrades please let us know asap and we'll inform you of costs as soon as they are available. *Upgrade options cannot be split up beyond the two options listed. It will not be possible to add CV Outputs to the Sub 37.

25.01.2022 That moment you are desperately trying to plug everything up from the front of the console, feeling your way around the back of your Pioneer DDJ-SR2 to hook up power and audio and suddenly WHAM!!... A bright flash and acrid smell and $500 kicks you in the pocket! I can't believe the number of times I've seen this damage. The IEC C7 (figure 8) power cable fits perfectly across the pins of an XLR audio socket and the cascade of failures is dramatic and dangerous.... Be careful out there.

25.01.2022 PSA!! QSC K.2 Series powered loudspeakers. Anyone with QSC K.2 series speakers are prompted to confirm their firmware is up to date at 1.1.0 An issue has been identified that will cause the internal power supply to switch to 110VAC under certain conditions and you seriously don't want that to happen :)... EAV has already repaired a few with this issue so please check them now. WA power is not the stablest. We will update for $25/box (free for long-term clients) or you can do it yourself from the information at QSC's update site - https://www.qsc.com//powered-loudsp/k2-series/k2_firmware/ You can easily check by going to SETTINGS in the menu and the version is displayed at the top of the display. It should read 1.1.0.xxxxx if not, do yourself a favour and get them in here now!

24.01.2022 Its amazing how a $1 part can bring down even the most expensive piece of gear. This Prism Sound MEA-2 is an incredible sounding unit and will be back home in its studio very soon. Question is, which one do you prefer?... PrismSound MEA-2 or the Manley Massive Passive? See more

24.01.2022 A cruisy Saturday afternoon with a pair of Roland Jupiter 6. The owner of one of these is a very lucky man. He recently bought it and decided to fix it himself by "recapping the power supply". Changing the regulator transistors for modern devices and not knowing about insulators is risking hundreds of dollars worth of rare ICs!... Lucky only three dead devices so far and I have them in stock.... Now, where's that beer

23.01.2022 Todays 12 hour turnaround job. A Digico SD12 with one screen down and a bad audio engine. Resolved and back for its weekend duties.

22.01.2022 This guys on a trip ;)

22.01.2022 This morning our neighbors plumbing failed catastrophically and our premises was flooded with over an inch of water. Effected areas include our store room where several thousand dollars of speaker recones and rare parts have been destroyed and our waiting-parts area where many customers equipment was damaged. Our insurance company is on the ball and has begun the process of drying out the rooms. We have secured local premises to move all equipment to so we can ascertain t...he extent of damage and all effected customers will be informed over the next few days. We apologise for any distress and hope people understand this is beyond our control. Please understand we are insured for your equipment on our premises.

22.01.2022 Heres the perfect video for a Sunday arvo and a couple of beers, especially if you love high quality audio gear. With EveAnna Manley in control, the company has produced a number of products considered "modern classics" including in 1994 the Manley Stereo Variable Mu Limiter-Compressor, in... 1997: Manley VOXBOX, Manley Stingray Stereo Integrated Amplifier and in 1998 the Manley Massive Passive Stereo EQ. 21.01.2022 We would like to offer our sincerest condolences to the families of the 9 people whom have died in Western Australia during this current COVID 19 pandemic. We can only feel for other countries that have suffered severely more loss and wish the best for all our friends overseas. We are proud the people of WA worked so hard together to knock this beast on the head. Time will tell if a second wave hits us but as long as we are aware of what needs to be done and look out for each... other we can get through it. With WA having no new COVID 19 cases for around two weeks now and the WA Government lifting restrictions on the 18 May as we move into Phase 2 of the Covid 19: WA Roadmap, EAV is also lifting our non-contact method of business. From Monday 25th May 2020 EAV will return to normal business practices with strict Covid 19 safety Guidelines as directed by the Western Australian Government We ask all our customers observe the following guidelines * Only one person at a time in our reception area. * If you arrive with a second person please have them wait on the stairwell landing. * If you arrive while a customer is being served we will alert you and ask you to wait until the previous customer leaves. * We have marked out our reception area and ask that you adhere to the markings of where to stand. * We will provide hand sanitiser and offer it to you to apply before using our EFTPOS machine unless the transaction is a contactless payment. We also have finger condoms and latex gloves on demand. We respect your help to make EAV a safe place to do business.

21.01.2022 EAV Employee Of The Month This month's Employee Of The Month goes to Totes Ettrick for his eagerness to learn to solder and not eat everything. 14.01.2022 EAV is very proud to be chosen as Stam Audios authorised warranty repairers in Australia. Stam audio was founded in 2013 by Joshua van der Stam in Chile with the aim to create the best and most accurate sounding replicas of vintage audio gear at any price point. Check out their webpage and be very impressed at the recreations of vintage analog recording gear for your studio.... https://stamaudio.com/

14.01.2022 Pioneer DJ has changed distributors in Australia. Since November 1st 2019 Jands have taken over the importation and distribution of all Pioneer DJ products. We are currently in a state of limbo while new warranty procedures and spare part inventory are transferred to the new distributor. JANDS expects it to be several weeks before spare parts will be available again. Prior knowledge of the change gave us the foresight to order up big on the most common spares so there should... be little disruption to the repair and servicing of Pioneer DJ equipment in Western Australia in the interim. It should also be noted that the price of Pioneer DJ spares will most probably increase by a substantial amount. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the amazing staff at Pioneer Electronics Australia for the years of literally the best support and most efficient spare parts department weve ever dealt with. It is like losing a dear friend. As EAV are already authorised warranty repairers for JANDS we see no serious disruption to the warranty repair of Pioneer DJ products

14.01.2022 A few days ago I was enjoying reading posts from DJs pumped about gigs they just won and touring sound engineers picking up gigs with huge world tours and clubs promoting new nights with great optimism and tickets selling fast for huge outdoor festivals. Suddenly almost overnight weve heard shocking stories from many of our friends, customers, engineers, club owners, promoters.. the whole damn entertainment industry.. whom have just lost their entire livelihood and some thei...r businesses. We feel for you all and wish it would be over quickly but fear its only just beginning judging by the models presented in already infected countries. Both of us are very high risk and after 30 years of EAV we will not submit to a fcuking virus without a fight. We are not closing but we need you to understand our plan and reasons. From Monday 23rd March 2020 we are implementing social distancing until further notice. All new repair jobs will require booking in and payment of inspection fee prior to dropping the gear off. This can be done via SMS (0423 597 073), email ( [email protected] ) or phone (08 9275 7375) or from our contact page - https://eav.com.au/eav-contact-and-address-and-phone-numbe/ We will ask you to drop the gear off in our downstairs area and leave. We will sanitise it and prepare it for service. Once repaired, payment will be made via Credit Card or Direct Deposit and we will place the goods downstairs for your collection again with no physical contact. We will be able to talk to you of course. We hope our customers trust us enough to accept these terms. We apologise for how impersonal it seems but we feel it is very necessary. Please stay safe out there.

13.01.2022 It's amazing how a $1 part can bring down even the most expensive piece of gear. This Prism Sound MEA-2 is an incredible sounding unit and will be back home in its studio very soon. Question is, which one do you prefer?... PrismSound MEA-2 or the Manley Massive Passive? See more

12.01.2022 Today's 12 hour turnaround job. A Digico SD12 with one screen down and a bad audio engine. Resolved and back for its weekend duties.

10.01.2022 This is my magic Stanley Phillips #2 screwdriver. It was given to me in a basic tool kit when I started at a new job as an apprentice Radio/TV Serviceman in Christchurch, New Zealand in 1973. It is indeed magic as it will and has repeatedly exposed demons from many electronic devices with its impeccable balance and ability to impact mojo joules upon printed wiring assemblies of faulty equipment.... A couple of years ago it broke in half. We summoned the electronic elders and managed to steel pin and CA glue it back to life and to this day it still serves the community. Anyone is invited to come to EAV and touch the magic Stanley #2 at any time.

09.01.2022 We get a lot of Technics SL1200 family in to repair and we are damn good at it. We also get a lot of requests to convert Ebay 1200 sales to 240V and we are damn good at that too :) The original Panasonic part dried up years ago so a good alternative was in demand.... Well here you go. The most elegant and non-intrusive method to replace the power transformer in your Technics SL1200MK2 MK6. We even install free with a Club Pack or Love Pack https://eav.com.au//eav-sl12240-240v-power-transformer-te/

09.01.2022 Keep an eye on your loved ones out in the heat over this summer. Combined with the blaring sun and your blistering hot mix the little ones just can't handle it. If you see them shape shifting, bring them in, 'cause they ain't gonna work much longer

08.01.2022 Apparently this guy is in charge!

07.01.2022 EAV crew are good at what they do and use any means to accomplish that task.

07.01.2022 Apologies for no phones. A damaged fiber cable apparently.Apologies for no phones. A damaged fiber cable apparently.

06.01.2022 Weather's heating up. Soon there will be a stream of DJ gear that has been rocking it outside in garden bars and beach parties that no longer function because they've been playing shapeshifters in the WA hot sun. I think it is largely unknown that most of this gear's maximum safe operating temperature is 35C. Pioneer DJ publish the working temperature range in their user manuals. I haven't found the info published in RANE DJ, DenonDJ or XONE:DJ manuals yet.... DJs, Production Managers, Venue Owners, Hire Companies etc please be aware and make sure they're in the shade with plenty of ventilation. Beware of storing the gear in coffin cases or lockups that are left in the sun. The case sections of the CDJ2000 are no longer available so if you melt them you're kinda screwed.. all CDJs suffer from the case top deforming and no longer being able to fully support the jogwheel assembly so they dip in the middle. Symptom is that annoying binding and catching when you spin the jog. From my experience the first symptoms of potential drama is the deforming of the white buttons.. the LOOP button drifts out of center in the holes as does the Media Select and Menu buttons around the display.. If you see the SD card door twisting, you don't have long to go :) EAV is fully stocked with the most common shapeshifting parts :) Take care out there. Remember every melted CDJ makes the baby Ettrick cry!

05.01.2022 2019 - 2020 Holiday Hours EAV wishes everyone a safe and happy break for the upcoming holiday season and thanks everyone for a great and fun filled year. This year we are closing on Tuesday 24th December 2019 at 5:30PM and reopening Thursday 9th January at 9:00AM... If you are in Morley on the 24th December drop in and say Gday and if you check in to EAV you may get a drink and gift

05.01.2022 I thought I'd give this DJ lark a go so I bought an entry level setup to practice on.

04.01.2022 There's gold in them thar capsules! I see a lot of lovely microphones but this Sony C800G is a classic and sells for up to $25k It looked like someone had left their lunch on the capsule but a good wash and it looks like new.. I can see my thumb in it :)

03.01.2022 Thanks to everyone that contacted us with words of support during the great flood of Morley. Everything is back to a new normal and remarkably no customer's gear was damaged. We "only" lost a bunch of rare spare parts including Fairlight and Peavey and Technics :( It must be an "Iso Special" but we are seeing more and more gear that has been poorly/not serviced by local enthusiasts. Remember it is a legal requirement set out by the ACCC that you receive a Repair Notice from ...a service/repair company during the booking in process of a piece of equipment. https://www.accc.gov.au//treating-cust/repairs-spare-parts You should also expect to receive the company's terms and conditions and evidence of insurance and care of your equipment whilst in their care. A tax invoice goes without saying or you have no warranty. If your repairer refuses or can't resolve your issue after paying them to do so, you are entitled to take the unit to another repairer for resolution. If that repairer resolves the issue you can make the original repairer pay that invoice and expenses. The picture is a vintage Juno 106 polyphonic synthesizer some maverick repairer risked injury to change the internal back up battery.. one should never heat up a lithium battery :) Up next.. poor turntable repairs and cash only "Iso Special" repairers Stay safe

03.01.2022 IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE Line 6 Relay G10, Relay G10S, and Relay G10T wireless products were introduced beginning in 2016. The Line 6 Relay G10T USB Charging Cable (an optional accessory not included with Relay G10, Relay G10S, or Relay G10T), which may be used to connect a G10T transmitter to a powered USB port, can also contribute to extreme overheating in the transmitter. 01.01.2022 I may be getting old but I can still solder in a 64 pin IEE1394 line driver chip like a pro :) These Focusrite Saffire Pro40 are still a really nice interface and worth repairing. Which reminds me, as we are likely going into iso in the near future maybe it's time to get some of that studio and DJ gear running smooth now... you know you're going to get bored :)... We are authorised repairers for most brands and have stacks of knowledge, manufacturer resources and spares in stock for most brands. AND don't forget we have an online shop of spares which is growing all the time. We hope you all are well and safe. LOVE https://eav.com.au/shop/
