20.01.2022 I love doing Qigong with my husband on a Monday night. I run my classes by Zoom to make them accessible to busy people. My husband is one of those busy people, busy with a full time job and he has been busy lately doing much landscaping at home. So he is feeling some aches and pains. He really gets a lot out of the Qigong that gives great stretches, loosens up tight muscles and joints and makes the body and mind feel restored. It is a moving meditation that works with all systems of the body... not just on strengthening but right down to our core needs for balance, breath work, nourishment of joints, detoxification, realignment, calming and cantering it really has it all. 15.01.2022 What a wonderful Primary Art Class I have. They drew their own Pokmon using foundation drawing skills, as taught today and then moved on to Copic markers experimenting with blending. Copic markers have traditionally been used by Graphic Designers, Architects and Industral Designers. Well done! Pokmon were a fun topic too!

12.01.2022 Qigong was developed more than 4000 years ago and predates Tai Chi. It is an Asian form of yoga that is well known in America and around the world. It has great appeal because it is mostly performed while standing and can be done outdoors at a park or beach... it is even perfect to do in a short break at work. No special attire or equipment is needed. Although very similar looking with similar heath outcomes Qigong and Tai Chi do have their differences. Qigong is very easy to... follow and perform and has no martial arts basis. There is no need for a beginner’s group because it just doesn’t have the same complexity of movements as Tai Chi. The movements are flowing like Tai Chi but are more stationary and repetitive. So in a nut shell Tai Chi is martial arts pattern work while Qigong is more like yoga. Both work with the meridians, organs, and all systems of the body to provide pain relief, better balance and alignment, circulation, nourishment to joints, detoxification,,, etc. this is why Qigong is perfect for addressing chronic health issues and longevity. 01.01.2022 Pompom adornments, tassels and exotic Aztec prints! Arent these adorable designs that my Primary Art students came up with. They also learnt how to hand draw and structure a llama head to toe. Some in the class are just 8years old. Got to love a festive llama! Well done!

01.01.2022 Some fabulous eye drawings by students from Ebb & Flow Studio. It is a great social class for adults who want to learn art and share some social time. Interestingly we have been talking about the Van Gogh Alive exhibition as many of us have been or are going... Vincent van Gogh drew thousands of images to better his skills and to fulfill leisure time. He completed over 1,000 drawings, which are known of, from 1877 to 1890. Van Gogh saw drawing as a necessary task to build a foundation as an artist and to study form and movement. However, as he describes, in many of his letters, he also used drawing as an outlet for mindfulness. Drawing is a wonderful engaging pastime.

01.01.2022 What is Qigong? The literal translation of qi gong is energy work. It is an Asian form of yoga that has been around for thousands of years. Much of it is performed while standing and many people assume it is Tai Chi. Although very similar looking with similar heath outcomes Qigong and Tai Chi do have their differences. Qigong is very easy to follow and perform and has no martial arts basis. There is no need for a beginner’s group because it just doesn’t have the same comple...xity of movements as Tai Chi. The movements are flowing like Tai Chi but are more stationary and repetitive. So in a nut shell Tai Chi is martial arts pattern work while Qigong is more like yoga. Both work with the meridians, organs, and all systems of the body to provide pain relief, better balance and alignment, circulation, nourishment to joints, detoxification,,, etc. this is why Qigong is perfect for addressing chronic health issues and longevity.
