16.01.2022 Today is the final day to get tickets for this event so please book now if you’d like to attend. Looking forward to seeing you online this Saturday!

16.01.2022 A year ago today - such a turning point for me - a very difficult presentation but one that needed to be done and that Im glad I went through with. I realised that I couldnt truly be myself if I continued to hide behind my professional facade. Being vulnerable doesnt make me less professional or unprofessional it makes me a better one. My traits and personal experiences didnt negatively affect my ability to be a good therapist and educator - they made me a much better one.... Being accepting enough of myself to acknowledge that has been another big step. Being vulnerable and using my difficult emotional experiences has allowed me to continue to make a difference in the community. Heres a link to the presentation if you missed it: https://www.facebook.com/303465040309627/videos/676893599422012/?

06.01.2022 CLOSING SOON: Hundreds of responses - dont miss out to make a difference - still time to complete * Yellow Ladybugs is working with the Department of Educati...on and Training Victoria to extend our current resource on supporting autistic girls at school, with information on Individual Education Plans (IEP's) and goal setting. It would really assist us if you could spare a few minutes to provide your input, share this link, and promote our survey. There are two different surveys, so please select the appropriate one for your circumstances. > Parent / Teacher Survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ylbgoals This survey is for any parents, teachers/principals, integration aides and allied health professionals who have been involved in developing an individual education plan for autistic girls. This survey is open to respondents from the various different schooling systems within Victoria, both mainstream and specialist schools, and primary and secondary schools. We welcome experiences from government schools, Catholic schools, independent schools, distance education and the homeschooling sector. > Student Survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ylbgoals_students Autistic experiences are at the centre of this project. This survey is for school-aged autistic girls / gender diverse individuals, or recent school leavers (autistic female / gender diverse individual who finished school in the last 1-3 years). This survey is open to school-aged autistic girls and gender diverse autistic students. Student responses are welcomed from the various different schooling systems within Victoria, both mainstream and specialist schools, and primary and secondary schools. We welcome experiences from students attending government schools, Catholic schools, independent schools, distance education and the homeschooling sector. As this survey is designed to be completed as independently as possible by the student, it is probably most suited to students from Grade 3 and above (up to Year 12). If you have a younger child, who is interested in completing the survey, you are welcome to support them through the process. Parents/carers can act as scribes or otherwise facilitate students in completing the survey, but we are looking for responses in the students own words. If you have an autistic student who would like to contribute to this project, but would prefer to do this in a non-written format (eg by providing a drawing, video etc) please contact us at [email protected] Recent school leavers (ie autistic female / gender diverse students who finished school in the last 1-3 years) are also welcome to complete this student survey, based on their experiences while they were at school. We will also be separately seeking extensive input from adult autistic women/individuals, who may want to draw on their own schooling experiences, at a later date. ********************* Throughout the surveys you will note the use of identity-first language. We use this as an autistic-led organisation, and believe autism is part of our identity. We have also included the term 'girls' but actively welcome input relating to gender diverse individuals (including non-binary and transgender, individuals who were socialised as female or identify as female).

01.01.2022 Responses appreciated: About a year ago Id had a couple of queries - whether I have any videos on You Tube and if Im going to create a You Tube channel. There are already so many channels and videos, many of which speak about the same thing, so Im not sure if theres a need or would be any interest?... But if there is need or a gap that requires filling and people think I could do something to assist, than I will consider it. So Id appreciate your ideas/answers to the following three points: a) If I did have a You Tube channel, would you subscribe to it? b) What would YOU specifically want to see on it, i.e. Is there something that you specifically are missing (information you want to access, knowledge you wish to have, things you want to view), please include ANY topic whether youre sure I could produce content related to it or not. c) In addition to your above answer, here are some VERY BROARD ideas/areas I could incorporate: Music and Movement for kids/teens; Auditory processing/speech/language; Education; Alternative education; Choral topics; Music & well-being; Self-care as an individual or a parent; Support for professionals/therapists; Autism-related; Natural medicine; motivational/life experiences. Please list any of these youd be interested in if you didnt already list them above at question b). d) What type of videos would you like to view? ...Short 1 - 5 min; 5 - 10 mins, 10 - 30 mins. ...Knoweldge sharing; Stories/anecdotes; specific training; practical tips; visual scapes & quotes; musical? Thanks in advance for your ideas/responses!!
