19.01.2022 Call a friend- One week to go!!

18.01.2022 Ebony Blackley’s first solo exhibition Frame of No Mind opens at Kidogo Arthouse on: Thu 7 June. Ends 13 June. Blackley attended Applecross’s Gifted and T...alented Visual Arts program graduating with the State Subject Exhibition Award for Art and Design. When leaving school her tutor’s advice was Go learn life’s lessons and then paint about them!. At age twenty with a broken neck and shattered spirits her crash course in life began. For a long time a darkness hovered as she was trapped in thought concerning past and future. Blackley’s recovery took hold when she began painting from a meditative state of no mind. The years since have strengthened her resolve to honour each moment and you are invited to participate in her painted experience. Not being tied to a concept allowed a freedom for a vast array of painting techniques to arise. Contrasting colours play with the eye, lines twist and fray, shapes become sculptural and repetition lives in rhythm. Each painting becomes the catalyst to create a frame of no mind. Exhibition runs 7-13 June 2018 at Kidogo Arthouse Bathers Beach Art Precinct, Fremantle.
