24.01.2022 COVID-19 ADVICE FOR ECA MARITIME COLLEGE INFORMATION UPDATED: FRIDAY 8 JANUARY, 5 PM (AEST) ECA Maritime College as part of the Greater Brisbane will go into mandatory lockdown for 3 days, from 6 pm Friday 8 January until 6 pm Monday 11 January. This lockdown means the office will be closed until 10 am Tuesday 12 January. It is important to remember that the Queensland Premier’s decision to lockdown is a strong precaution to stop the spread of the UK strain of COVID-19. ECA is taking the new restrictions seriously, and our primary focus is the health and wellbeing of students and staff. ECA is currently working through what these mandatory restrictions mean for our community, including all staff and students. Updates will be coming soon.

21.01.2022 We have just added a General Purpose Hand (GPH) course to our 2020 schedule. Do you want to begin your maritime career working on a commercial vessel and you dont have current sea time? This would be the perfect qualification to begin with! This qualification will allow you to work as a deck and/or engine room hand on a vessel up to 80 metres long. 11.01.2022 Sad to hear one of our own is not doing well and we wish him the very best. However they have received information I would like to share from their medical prac...titioner. The oncologist suggested that its far worse than being reported currently especially in the BRISBANE/SYDNEY area and everyone should isolate immediately and NOT to travel domestically at this time. Just a heads up for anyone who was on the fence. Also suggested people in these major cities to essentially go into complete self isolation now rather than later. Do what you want with this information, however if our governments do not want to shut us down, we as a community can. We are in no better position than anyone else, if you need anything let us know and we will see if we can help. Please Australia lets take this seriously.
