05.01.2022 I thought that this was an interesting way of viewing the current health/economic/social conditions in which we find ourselves. Career counselling skills will be most important in assisting clients through their 'trauma'. In addition to our counsel, career professionals need to allow grace to be central to their counselling sessions; as their clients try to figure out their vocational future. In some ways, the feelings of losing your job are similar to visiting your bomb-rava...ged town after a WWII enemy aeronautical bombing raid. The same questions can be asked of someone whose 'lost' their job/role/career: * "How do I start again?" * "What's left of my house (resources)?" * "Is there a future for me?" * "Do I now have to rebuild from scratch, or are there some foundational blocks to build on and work with?" * My sense of identity and purpose was wrapped up in that house (job role). Who am I and what/who do I live for now?" Career assessments can give clarity, direction and hope and career application skills can give people the confidence to acquire the roles they deserve!
