25.01.2022 On 11th February 1991 David Lord & Simon Bilalis started a business at 235 Swan Street, Richmond called Eastern Commercial Furniture. Their philosophy then was to be customer focused, provide fit for purpose solutions, quality product and support Australian furniture manufacturing. From a small office in Richmond their vision 30 years on remains the same. The only differences now are that Managing Director Simon Bilalis has a 20 strong team supporting the same goals, a 1200sqm showroom in ABBOTSFORD and the business also includes a healthcare division. The Diocese of Parramatta consisted of 4 floors of furniture for their new office and education department located on Church Street Parramatta. The site presented several logistical challenges, so a site visit allowed us to gain an idea of what our team w...ould be facing during the delivery and installation process. No goods lift and a narrow corridor leading from the loading area, led to most items being delivered via the third-floor window! All in a day’s work here at ECF. Here at HFA we worked through challenging conditions with a stage 4 lockdown in Melbourne beginning just weeks before delivery for the Bolton Clarke, Fernhill project was due. With the help of permitted worker permits and utilising our local QLD contacts to be our hands onsite, we were able to push through the challenges and deliver this project on time.
